Can you move to another room? OH has developed a loud snore (I mean really loud) over the years. He's not really overweight but he's trying to lose some weight because apparently this can help - even losing a small bit. He's not actually trying to lose weight just to help me sleep, snoring isn't actually that good for you. Between the snoring and the fact that he's got a cold, I've been sleeping in a spare room - might seem a bit sad but the first night I couldn't believe how well I slept. 7 hours straight and deep too! When the colds gone, I'll move back to our room but if his snoring is keeping me up I'm off to another room in future....Actually, all the websites seem to say this is the thing to do. It seems a bit harsh though! We've been married 33 years! I am hopeful if he loses some weight the snoring might go.

Thanks Shaggy. I would go in the spare room but there was no room at the inn so to speak as all the offspring were home. Snoring seems to have settled as his cold is getting better. So although I’m waking a lot I have gone back to sleep.

Thanks Cuppatea I think it’s menopause and anxiety. Hey ho am making the most of the nights when I do get back to sleep. Hope your child is feeling better soon.

    3/5 snc please Shaggy

Another one struggling, it’s making me realise how much I was drinking. Last three nights I have had one bottle of coors light. Still better than a bottle of wine a night

I know it doesn't help your totals lantanna but it's still cutting down. More than one way to skin a cat.:)

6/10 AFDs please Shaggy and 4/4 for the SNC:)

Hello everyone. I didn't realise I hadn't been here since before New Year.

I am up to 6 for this month and 4/5 for the SNC. I'm all on track (not sure what for as I am target free, but I guess I do have a target in my mind) as although I drank last Thursday, I didn't on Friday (which is super rare) as I've been getting bad heartburn and didn't fancy the wine. In fact, I think it is the wine and the fact that I have put on weigh (oops) that is causing it!

I decided not to do dry Jan this year as I did last year and almost managed it. I just want this less drinking to become normal for me and it almost has. I (generally) don't drink during the week, but if there is an occasion when I do, I just draw a line under it.

There is even a glass of wine in a bottle in the fridge (unless my mum has found it) which used to be unheard of along with half a bottle of gin. In the old days, I didn't seem to be able to have alcohol in the house without drinking it.

I am planning on another AF day today, but don't want to call it yet because I might change my mind and if I do, so what? No biggie. This is the frame of mind that I am trying to get into. If it is banned, I will want it. However, if I tell myself that if I really want it, I can have it, half the time I just end up having a cup of tea!

I am also one who is finding it hard to sleep at the moment. Don't think it's related to drink as I seem to have that under control. Just keep overthinking things and worrying about money and the like.

    Anybody Else?
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Evening all! Been a little busy but Tuesday through to tonight were AFDs! 6/16.
    Mortgage free by 33 - (21/07/22 - 32 years and a bit...)

Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)
