    15/TF, please Shaggy.

Barny, I don't have an off switch wrt wine - well ....I guess the off switch is when I start to feel woozy, normally at the end of the third glass/most of the bottle - sometimes all the bottle and a bit of another one... and it's only wine that I have this issue with - I have no particular desire to drink spirits/beer/other types of alcoholic drinks.

Perhaps for me it's come about because of the many years of wine drinking - maybe this has rewired my brain. I try to drink only when I'm eating out and therefore splitting a bottle of wine between several people, my OH etc. My OH can have a single glass and put the bottle away - I can't.

I drank yesterday and felt awful, I'm starting to think that I just do g want to do it any more. I feel relieved now when I don't drink and am really beating myself up when I do, even though I'm not doing anything wrong!

I'm going to try my hardest to stay 'dry' until at least 31st August, when I have a wind and cheese do with friends.

Good luck with the target of 31 August, Annie. It sounds as though your tolerance has reduced since you cut down. No need to feel guilty when you drink in moderation and enjoy it; that's what we'd all like to be able to do.

Is anyone else like me, can go without a drink, but if I have one, there's no off switch?

Nope, I couldn't go without a drink most evenings looking back on it; I often intended to but somehow almost never did. And after I'd had one I didn't want to stop, although again, I always intended to. Lucky you, being able to forgo it sometimes.

    19/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

The two weeks around the August Bank Holiday, along with the week before Christmas, are the quietest weeks of the whole year on here, although it's been busier than usual in the run up to the BH this year. Have a lovely time, everyone.

    20/31 please, Shaggy.

  • Well I didn’t manage it. Succumbed to two glasses and then stopped at 8 which is now my cut off time. If OH didn’t sit out in the garden with one in the sunshine I wouldn’t be tempted. Will try again today.
Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.
