HMRC and savings interest

I have just checked my personal tax account online and my actual interest received for 2017/2018 is now being used as an estimate for 2019/2020. The same amount was previously being used as an estimate for 2018/2019.

I am currently able to view this in detail by first logging into my personal tax account and then following the link below and clicking on Check you account details and estimated interest. Other users have reported that this link also works for them.

Does this mean the system is finally working as intended?

As a confirmed sceptic;), I'll wait for more posters to confirm accuracy before I venture into mine.

I am not sure that even the Good Lord Almighty knows the intentions of HMRC IT.

As regards your venturing in, it either works or doesn't work.

They now have accurate figures for my actual gross and actual tax paid, but the assumptions for savings interest are still wrong (after 2 letters), but at least the dividends have been updated correctly cf my letters. Still overcharged about three hundred £ for 18/19.

Still a complete load of rubbish in my PTA

Could make a joke about PiTA - but instead spent 12 minutes entering the data into SA 2018-19.

Got a complete assessment of the correct data - plus a full breakdown of the tax liability and the total due - which I disagree with ...

    ... but by only a penny. :T

I managed to get into it with the link thanks. The figure for last year was half what I made it - £420 v £850. Didn't include Marcus interest or Lloyds that I could see.

HMRC won't have your figure for last year yet. It will be a few weeks before the banks report to HMRC and even then it may be several weeks before personal tax accounts are updated.

The only figures they would have now are those for 2017/2018.

Banks have until 30 June after the tax year ends to report the details to HMRC so as RG2015 says it will be a while yet before you see actuals details for 2018:19

Yesterday when I looked (for something else) the interest list seemed to have disappeared. At least, I couldn't find it. Has it moved somewhere?

Same situation for me, there was an estimate recently but now it's just employment information.
