PS , I claim post 200 on this thread

Not sure that's an honour I'd want!

    :D:D:beer::beer:

    OP.

Again. Please, please slow down. You are in danger of losing us all in your deluge of posts. You don't have to post every time the RK sends or receives an email. One longer post with a summary of the day's happenings would be better and tidier.

I can't be sure, as I am beginning to lose the will to live, but I don't think there is anything that time critical that a few hours wait would matter.

I am sorry. I don't wish to be critical but it's overwhelming and you are not helping us to help you.

was the land designated as a car park by the counsil before selling/buying and other goings on

    Short answer - Absolutely -
    very potted full history
Waitrose opened for business on 17/08/1993 & the car park has been there from day one. In 2010, the council sold the land for £6.25m (it was said to be valued at circa £9.9mill back then ). in 2015 The council then spent £19.55m buying all the land the developer had bought back which included an office block, another car park and the Waitrose car park, three houses and a restaurant on the site as well.

Unreserved apology to everyone, NeilR, Umkomaas, coupon mad, twhitehousescat and anyone else I have missed. I appreciate this is not your usual case and in reality is quite straightforward albeit a bit of a long drawn out one since it goes back a few years.

I have taken on board all the advice that has been so kindly given and I promise to slow down, take a deep breath and cut back on the amount of posts. - I am a total novice at this and only want to see the best result for the RK.

    RESULT RESULT RESULT :j :j :j

I've just had a phone call from a very happy and extremely tearful RK saying that they had just taken a call on their home phone from a lovely lady from Waitrose Executive team saying they are horrified at the antics of BP and that they are instructing BP immediately to cease all action.

I asked the RK how Waitrose would have obtained their home phone number so it must be on the records from the RK's loyalty card.

Apparently the call was cut short because the phone supplier was in the street working on the phone lines when they disconnected it so I gave the RK Waitrose head office number. They have spoken to lady again and Waitrose are writing to confirm everything. My advice to the RK is to ask Waitrose to ask them to get BP to write to the RK as well confirming the same.

So the RK has asked me to pass on to everyone here a very big thank you for all the assistance that has been provided in such a short period of time. I too absolutely echo their sentiments and to just say thank you seems to be such an inadequate expression of gratitude.

i totally appreciate it was somewhat of a tsunami of information I unloaded on this amazing forum and my heartfelt apologies still stand if I upset any of you lovely people, I ask for your forgiveness. and all of you are amazing people who deserve medals for the excellent work you do to help consumers fight these awful companies.

I think this closes this chapter with a fantastic result and another victory for the ordinary person .:A:A:A:A:A

ps - I am not proud of the record I set as a newbie on this forum.

SUPERB , and pass on my best wishes to the RK

please come back and post the final outcome on this once all the letters are received, so we have closure , plus get the RK to email the DPO at BP to get their data deleted once this is all over , but tell them to keep all the paperwork for 6 years, just in case

and my advice to you is to add this thread to the sticky thread for SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS , as a link and add a quick precis of what went on to explain what can be found in the link, because the wealth of info in this thread is a worthwhile resource for this forum , so dont be disheartened , we need threads like this to point other newbies at, so they can wade through the mire and see why they are being told to do things and what the outcome can be in doing so

full marks to WAITYS (or to JOHN LEWIS) for getting this resolved (assuming they stick by their promises)

if more people put the time and effort into contacting landowners and retailers about the bad practices of their contractors , then the industry and commerce woyuld be a much better place , never mind the new Parking CoP bill by Sir Greg Knight that had to be introduced due to these par@sites preying on vulnerable people

    - Absolutely - the Waitorse lady has confirmed this and the RK is going to send another email requesting that BP also confirm the same in writing .

Thank you and of course once all the letters come in I will gladly post these up. I think the RK is likely to have them framed and hung in pride of place as this whole episode has brought them great stress - this i why I stepped in to offer my help (even though I am total novice ) as I absolutely detest with a vengeance these types of charlatans .
get the RK to email the DPO at BP to get their data deleted once this is all over , but tell them to keep all the paperwork for 6 years, just in case
    - Excellent suggestion but a very stupid question - is there any way that it can be proven that BP have deleted all the personal information for the RK?

Another stupid quesstion but how exactly do I go about adding this thread to the sticky thread????

And I absolutely echo the sentiments expressed in your last paragraph - so many people I know have just rolled over and paid up instead of taking a bit of time to learn what they need to do and fight these shysters.

    Many thanks again

the RK can do a SAR to that DPO after the request for deletion has been done and a reasonable time has passed (say 2 or 3 months)

under GDPR they would have 30 days to provide the data, any issues should be reported to the ICO, they have a duty of law , so put it to the test , if they have no data they should say so in the SAR reply

copy and paste the URL of this thread into your reply in that SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS thread, adding a brief precis of what its about and who were involved (not the RK but the companies etc)

The RK sends an e-mail to the DPO at the PPC and asks for all .data they hold on them. There should be nothing

Click in the address bar at the top of the page and copy the URL. Then go to the STICKY thread Rex pointed you at and paste it into the reply box.
