Have just cancelled my WW membership. I feel confident enough to go it alone now. It will save me some money that I can put to better use.
Every little helps. :rotfl:0 -
Welcome Broke bear
I don't know how many points you are on, I can only go with what I am allowed, and thats 28 dailies and 35 weeklies
The week I stuck to my points, I lost 5lb, it does work. My trouble is I like a drink or three, and Ive had two impromptu trips to England when counting point went clean out the window :rotfl:
I also. tend to not eat when Im having a drink, which is a total waste of time as all your body does is store what food it does get not knowing when its getting more
So for myself when Im doing the programme correctly, I go for low point breakfast and lunch, so I have some points to have a drink, and then use the rest of my points for dinner so that Im not having to cook separately for me, or put Mr Suki and Mum on a diet
If you study the points system you will notice that the low point or zero point foods are those that are high protein, low carbs - eggs, fish, lean chicken and turkey etc, plus as much fruit and veg as you like. Its bread, cereals, potatoes , rice and pasta which are high points plus all those foods that are high sugar
So lets say on a Saturday , I will do a Brunch for me and He. I will have two poached eggs, two bacon medallions , poached mushrooms, baked beans and grilled tomatoes . I won't take the bread or if I do want bread I use a slim. So without the bread Ive only used 4 points and yet have had a pretty filling brunch. Add a slim and its another 3 points, add two slices of toast and its another 5 points
So I have a potential 24 points to get through the day.
Dinner might be roast chicken - 4 points for that, as much free veg as I want and I can even have potatoes and still only use half the 24 points
Basically its just choosing meals that are balanced. If I want spaghetti Bol I have it but I use turkey mince which means its just the pasta I have to point, same with Indian food, I use chicken or chickpeas and then its just the rice and naan and onion bhajees I have to point, and if Ive not got enough points, Ill skip the bread
it also helps to get some kitchen scales to weigh out a portion of food, just to see how much it really is as we all have too large a portion. Ive swapped a lot of the rice I used to eat for couscous as 50g of that is actually really filling where as I would be looking for the rice on my plate :rotfl:
One of the girls in work was wondering why she wasn't losing even though she was tracking and it was her breakfast cereal. She was tracking 5 points, yet when we weighed what she had poured out - it was 15 points :eek:0 -
Thanks for the welcome LL and Suki
My points are 28 dailies and 42 weeklies
I managed to use ALL of my weeklies in just 2 days  as just figuring things out between now and Super Sunday weigh in at my first class
I have done much better today and still have 3 points left out of my dailies - haven't felt hungry at all but did get a little jealous when my colleague started tucking in to a cadburys cafe au last bar - they are delish but definitely a no from me for now. Normally my colleague would offer it round but I have made her aware I am being good and doing WW (both the lovely ladies in my office are very slim) and she ate it very surreptitiously and did not offer as she knows my willpower is minimal :rotfl:
breakfast
1 slice medium wholemeal toasted and 3 eggs scrambled with splash milk
lunch
1 slice medium wholemeal toasted and little tin heinz ravioli
dinner
Delia Smiths tuna bean salad made by OH (under strict instructions to weigh and measure EVERYTHING)
Snacks have been fruit and then tea and coffee (this tea and coffee take up more points than i expected). If thou of fortune be bereft, and of thine earthly store hath left,Two loaves, Sell one and with the dole, buy hyacinths to feed the soul. 'Anon'

That sounds a lot more positive Broke Bear, well done :T
I work in a team of four and tbh, the other three do not stop putting food in their mouths all day. I keep a case of Diet cokes in my car which I will share all day, every day. Each one of the other three bring in crisps , cakes, chocolate bars or send out for sausage rolls, Jambons etc. And it is hard to be saying no all day every day
So I caved in and got my own treats, the ringos - 2 points and the Alpen Bars - 2 points. I take one of each in with me, and usually bring them home again as I find I don't really "need" them, they are just with me just in case my will power fails me because it is really hard to say no when everyone around you is eating something really nice
This isn't my first time in WW, I done it before around 1998 and kept the weight off till these last 4/5 years. That last time WW used little twee sayings and one that stays with me is , "I don't want that mars bar/ bag of chips/ whatever, as much as I want to be slim". That helps me keep the sugar rich foods to a minimum0 -
Hello everyone......
1/2lb gone this morning, so have now broken the 11st barrier. Wahoo.
I also picked up a great evenjng dress in wait for it.....SIZE 12. I haven't worn a size 12 since I got pregnant with my youngest son......he turned 33 this year. :rotfl:
Who says you are too old to lose weight. Yes it's probably easier when you are younger but just goes to show, if you want something badly enough and are prepared to put in the effort, then you will eventually be rewarded for your hard work.
Well done Bear, sounds like you're getting your head round it all. Once you do get going you will still be able to have the odd treat now and again, as long as you track your points you can indulge. That's why zero hero's are so great......:rotfl:
Today's menu......
B. Scrambled egg, mushrooms. Opts
L. Cheese and ham toastie..........6pts
D. Sausage bake........................4pts.
Leaves me a bit to play with for drinks, snacks and supper.
Yesterday I clocked up 7 Pts in teas and coffees. Need to cut back a bit, drink more water and look for low or zero calorie drinks. Problem is I don't like fizzy drinks and I'm not crazy about squash or cordials. Ok when it's really hot weather but I do prefer hot beverages. Not wild about herbal teas if I'm honest.
Need to think about that one......0 -
Hello.....you're all very quiet. :rotfl: have you fallen off the wagon.
All's Good here, another 1/2 lb gone. Slow but sure.
Working like a demon, decluttering, cleaning, gardening. Who needs exercise. :rotfl: actually I do, definitely need to do some yoga or Pilates to sort out my back.
Managing to more or less stay on plan, although have dipped into my weeklies most days. My official WI day was always Monday. I think I'll stick to that even though I've cancelled my membership. Although I do weigh myself more frequently.
Have reduced my teas and coffees a bit so saving a few points there. Managing to drink more water.
Otherwise no news, all is good. Feeling positive and motivated.
Looking forward to slaying that last stone.0 -
Another pound down this week.:)
I just had a veggie bacon toastie for lunch and I have some leftover HM onion soup for lunch.
I'm going to have a bean burger with salad for dinner. Its bread, cereals, potatoes , rice and pasta which are high points plus all those foods that are high sugar
That is the problem I have as those are the foods I like the most.:rotfl:0 -
First weigh in day today, was planning on going to group nearby for the meeting but forgot we had nephew’s birthday breakfast (all tracked on app). Was DSD’s birthday dinner last night and she chose Indian takeaway so points were tracked as best I could totalling 60 for the meal and wine.
On the scales first thing this morning at home and 3lb lost
Looking forward to a good week this week and my first group meeting will now be next Sunday. I will still weigh at home though as that will tell me if mine and group scales match up!!
Here’s to a good week all round xxIf thou of fortune be bereft, and of thine earthly store hath left,Two loaves, Sell one and with the dole, buy hyacinths to feed the soul. 'Anon'

I am feeling the worse for wear today, few too many drinks last night! Anyway the boys birthday is done so back to tracking this week. I have no outings planned next week, the boys all have two more days, but the girl broke up Friday. Hoping I haven't gained too much this week and can do a decent loss next.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0
