Chinese Spam calls?

I'm unsure if this type of topic is allowed here, so my apologies if not.
I've been having spam calls from some Chinese company and I have no idea what they are saying because I don't speak Chinese, but there's no way to block them because every time they call the number is different. I believe it's some sort of scam where they claim to be holding a parcel for you, but after that I have no idea. How a Chinese-speaking company have gotten hold of my mobile number I have no idea, but I was wondering if anyone knew how to stop these? If you register with TPS does it actually stop these calls or does it just warn the person calling? I'm worried they will still be able to get through and I won't even be able to make a complaint because I don't know who's calling!
Thanks for any advice in advance.

The TPS list is a centrally held list of UK numbers who have indicated that they would prefer not to be cold called.
The scammers wont give two hoots about it, and will have no idea that it even exists most likely
Just keep ignoring them / hanging up and they will soon get bored.
The only other option is to change your number or get one of those call minder things0 -
There is a function on your phone which you can blacklist their number0
-
Andypix - so it doesn't stop them, it just warns them?
Cisco - I can't blacklist their number because it's different every time they call.
I guess I will just have to keep hanging up and hoping they go away.0 -
Buying from Chinese sellers on Ebay seems a good way to get your number on a spam list of any description.0

Who said anything about buying phones ?0

Molerat - how would they get my mobile number though? I'm sure I've probably bought stuff from Chinese sellers, but I'm pretty sure all my details are private.0

.
Not even that ..
Companies are 'supposed' to sanitise their outgoing call list against the TPS register ..
Only legitimate and reputable companies are going to do this0 -
Are you on PlusnetMobile?
There's a long and, somewhat irate, thread about it there...

I get these from time to time and was on Plusnet until 6 months ago. Still get them even on my new provider.0
