You obviously had a very "quick look" at the newbies thread firstly it tells you to ignore debt recovery plus who are scammers and liars.

She did not read to ignore on this forum!

This scam is called "ghost ticketing".

How do you know the driver was "obviously parked where they shouldn't" is it "obvious" just because a scamming greedy ex clamper has sent in their equally greedy scamming debt crawlers?

You don't need a scenario which is the same as yours the PPC scam is generic it's all explained in the newbies thread and it even includes a template appeal.

If DRP are involved and get ignored hard enough, they may involve an outfit called Zenith - same offices, different desks - in which case, keep on ignoring them.

BUT DO NOT IGNORE A COURT CLAIM!

Complain to your MP. On 18th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Thanks for the replies guys. I have had a look at the newbie section with a fresh pair of eyes and will use the template to appeal for the recent ntk which was issued in the last 5 days. The previous ntk was issued at the beginning of Feb-ish can i still appeal that one too, using the same template regarding the identification of driver?

The NTK is addressed to the registered keeper not the driver: UKPC cannot find out who the driver is for a vehicle on a specific day unless that information is given to them.

Who's the NTK addressed to? The keeper (you) or the driver (your wife)?

If it's addressed to the driver, then it's a NTD and a claim derived from it would have to be addressed to and defended by her (but you can assist and act as a lay rep at court hearing stage).
  • the ntk is addressed to me as i am the registered keeper.
should i just use the newbie template to appeal both? or is the older one (beginning feb) now too old to appeal?( drp letter issued mid march)

Ok, you ignore DRP - they're toothless debt collectors (they also hang out with a bunch called Zenith or ZZPS - same office, different desk) and they can't take you to court, only UKPC or their appointed solicitor can.

I think UKPC are IPC members so would use IAS for appeals (they have the BPA logo on their website, but it's the rectangular one, and their membership logos are really badly artifacted image files that look like they were made by a child.

If I'm right (and I'm unsure), we advise to skip IAS (because of how biased it is) and ignore until you get a proper claim letter/form.

Sadly, UKPC are based in my home city... :(

They don't have the BPA roundel on their website, they do have the rectangular one, that's why I thought IPC.

No, not Beaconsfield, their website lists an office in Coventry and Companies House says their registered office is in Coventry, quite close to the railway station and at least 1 pub. Which might explain some things about them ;)

Unless I'm looking at the wrong company because there's more than 1 with the same name and initials...
