What happens when you give up smoking?

Whatever works for you will work if you want it to.
My OH was an inveterate smoker. Tried all the patches and gum and so on. Now has a vape and we are all happy. No smells no nothing and it works.
It really does.0 -
When you quit smoking it comes with lots of benefits!
Smoking is a harmful habit that can lead to severe health complications and death. When a person quits smoking, the body will start to naturally heal and regain the vitality of a non-smoker over time.
Some effects, such as lowered blood pressure, are seen almost immediately. I am not usually a complainer for things but I find myself doing it constantly. I've been struggling with insecurity. All the books say the anxiety from nicotine withdrawal should have stopped by now so what am I left with?
Well done for giving up:)
Have a read of this MSE guide on the main site and well done for sticking with it

I gave up 12 years ago after a 30 year 25 a day habit. I used Champix.
No if I smell cigarette smoke now it makes me retch0 -
I quit over a decade ago, & used the Nicorette inhaler as I needed that hand to mouth thing. I'd been diagnosed with cancer & gave up within 3 weeks, I was surprised at how easy it was for me because no one loved a fag more than me. I know I'll never smoke again.
Although I'd previously stopped for 6 months & craved a fag every minute of every day of that time. I wanted to kill people  or throw myself under a bus. Dr said it was best I started again.
Perhaps you need something else in your life to replace the fags, a sport or something maybe?
All the best, you've done well!0
