What happens when you give up smoking?

When you quit smoking it comes with lots of benefits!
Smoking is a harmful habit that can lead to severe health complications and death. When a person quits smoking, the body will start to naturally heal and regain the vitality of a non-smoker over time.
Some effects, such as lowered blood pressure, are seen almost immediately. I am not usually a complainer for things but I find myself doing it constantly. I've been struggling with insecurity. All the books say the anxiety from nicotine withdrawal should have stopped by now so what am I left with?

Get yourself a vaper, man. You'll still have something between your lips, but with less nicotine or none at all.Travel Enthusiast0 -

Yes, I would agree with that. Cocaine and heroin are much more intense, One cigarette is hardly comparative to heroin, but if you smoke 20–40 cigarettes a day.
Supposedly, nicotine is “the hardest thing to quit”, but I have heard multiple times from multiple people quite the opposite. I think likely if the prior is true, it’s because the habit is, well, 20–40 times a day. And instantaneous. So maybe for ritual, extraneous reasons, not the addiction itself.Travel Enthusiast0 -

..... I'm pleased vaping wasn't a big thing back in 2007...when I stopped it was mainly the electronic cigarettes which just looked plain stupid
I'll stick to inhaling 2nd hand smoke......mainly when on holiday sitting outside a bar with a cold beer0 -

Well done! i quit 14 years ago on my first ever attempt after smoking all my adult life.
You will notice your skin and hair look better, you will probably sleep better and you won’t smell of smoke anymore. Your breathing will be better too.0
