    London parking solution

They are in the IPC so ignore them as others have said; there was never an appeal that would be fairly considered, no matter what you try to say, you can't win at IAS stage.

Keep them updated if you move house within the 6 years and sit tight, no worries, no effect on your credit rating.

The 'up to 6 years' is nothing special for parking firms. It's just the time people have to sue anyone in England/Wales. Normal info, same as if you wanted to sue a builder, etc., you'd have up to 6 years max.

Come back if you get a claim, as that's where we win 99% of cases.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just a reminder - if you do get a court claim form, please come back to this thread and continue it.

  • Hi all...
    Just an update ...
I got a email with a letter attached which saying the following.

"Thank you for your appeal against the above Parking Charge Notice ('PCN') which has been carefully considered, however,on this occasion, the appeal has been rejected for the reason(s) detailed below.Your vehicle was observed as being parked in a Permit Holders Only parking space, without clearly displaying a valid parkingpermit. Notice of the terms and conditions of parking is served by way of numerous large warning signs which are displayed atprominent places throughout the site. Whilst we sympathise insomuch as you may be a genuine permit holder, by failing todisplay the same, you have breached the displayed terms and conditions of parking. Retrospective evidence of possession of avalid parking permit is not sufficient to discharge your liability to display the same whilst using this private car park. You have now reached the end of our internal appeals procedure and you now have two options:* You can pay the total amount due of £60.00 within 14 days (see reverse of letter for payment options).* You can appeal to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS) if you believe this decision is incorrectIn order to appeal the IAS will need your PCN number, vehicle registration and the date the charge was originally issued. The IAS provides an Alternative Dispute Resolution scheme for disputes of this type. As you havecomplied with our internal appeals procedure, you may use and we will engage with, the IAS Standard Appeals Serviceproviding you lodge an appeal to them within 21 days of this rejection.

IMPORTANT NOTE:Should you decide to appeal to the IAS and your appeal is subsequently rejected, the option to pay a discountedamount will no longer be available and the full amount of the PCN will become due, payment should be made to theOperator within 14 days from the date of the IAS rejection notification. If you do not make payment, the outstanding PCN will be passed to our appointed debt collection agencyfor further action and all costs associated with this process will be added to the amount outstanding."

Ignore that, but keep it safe as proof that you appealed.

Get your own pics of the site and signage now in case they try court in the next six years.

Complain to the landowner if you haven't already done so.

Complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

the permit not displayed properly on the windscreen. Its a commercial office site and managed by estate agents for rents and bills. They dont want to know anything about parking. If I say something about the parking they just tell us to contact the LPS (London Parking solution).

Do you think its better to pay up rather waiting in fears what they will do next?

Check out post 6 on this thread - reassuring words from one of the most, probably the most, experienced regulars here:

Paying up is rarely advised on here because the PPCs are basically mugging motorists with bits of paper and the majority of cases are winnable. And if Coupon-mad sees LPS as small fry, I'd say you really can afford to put all worries well to the back of your mind for 6 years.

Just leave one little light switched on in case any debt collection letters do arrive - in which case keep them but do not respond or do anything unless a Letter Before Claim is received.

Nobody here will recommend you pay and support the scammers so they can continue to scam other people. You will be perpetuating the scam if you pay, but hey, it's your money and your drain.

If you aren't going to pay then you should edit your post to remove information about who didn't display a permit.

Yet that experienced regular isn't prepared to put their money where their mouth is and pay the resulting CCJs of anyone who loses. Until people advising what they do are prepared to put their money where their mouth is I place absolutely zero confidence in their advice. People like yourself will say it is the one to follow because it fits in with your views, not because there is actually any basis in reality. Many people who have followed such advice have found themselves with CCJs down the line.
