No In Flight Entertainment

Hello, does anyone have any tips regarding making a claim for no in flight entertainment on a long-haul flight from Manchester to Orlando with Thomas Cook. This was on outgoing and then on return flight.
Any help would be appreciated

They do have entertainment?? You would have been told before flying that they have an in flight app that you download on your iPad/ tablet.0

Or was the app not working? Sorry but there’s not much detail in the post.0

Their website states
***Some flights may not offer in-flight entertainment.
I imagine their contract with you is to get you from A to B and back again, not necessarily to provide entertainment.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660 -
If the in flight entertainment wasn't working you should complain and may receive a token gesture, I don't think you otherwise have any claim or entitlement to compensation. As above you were paying for the flight, not the entertainment.0

Thanks for replies
We each (4 passengers, (2 adults, 2 children)) we give a £5/$5 gift card. We were told on both flights that the in flight entertainment was not working (flights were 3 weeks apart). I have always had in flight entertainment on long haul flights. Felt that any faults with on flight system would be fixed within 3 weeks!0 -
So what do you think you should have received ?Thanks for replies

If the gift cards you gave were payment for entertainment you didn't receive, then you'd be entitled to have them returned (or the value of £20/$20 in cash).0

I didn't feel that what we were offered in compensation was adequate for the inconvience of not having any in flight entertainment on such a long flight. I just wanted to know if anyone had had a similar problem? and what their outcome was0

I've had a couple in the hundreds of flights I've done - both were settled by additional FF points being thrown at us - not much help on Thomas Cook though.
Nowadays many (or most depending on the route) have their own devices so little incentive for the airline to take out of service and fix quickly
Depending on timings there's not a mass of free aircraft in circulation for situations like this - esp in the recent 787/737-8 issues0 -
AFAIK Thomas Cook don't have an airmiles scheme, therefore an offer of monetary value seems appropriate in this instance. In-flight entertainment isn't a huge part of your flight value....and a few quid would seem fair.
Normally FF miles is the norm and it's not huge for Y flights (assuming that's what you had)?
Have you asked for more if that's what you want?0
