  • You missed the interviews, if it was one than fair enough but five is unacceptable.

I was involved in recruitment when I worked for ASDA and we had people that used to apply alot and then fail to attend the interviews and in the end we used to just refuse their application as we kept their name on a "did not attend" list, it saved wasting time and refusing other people interviews.

When you complete online tests with regards to situational judement, you need to focus on what is best for the customer.
  • Yeah i know that Mark but I do focus on the customer. I thought that cleaning a spill up and putting a wet floor sign up would be focusing on the customer or if there was a long line of customers and one work partner there to help them and open another till
  • Sometimes though it can be that if you advertise a job and part of the online application involves a situational judgement task, and say for example you have 60 applicants for the job, the recruitment team will than place all applicants jn order of who scored the highest to lowest and than the top 10/15 may be invited to interview/assessment.

So sometimes it literally is luck of the draw.

If you are going to university, then you should try and do some part time jobs with them, when I did my degree I worked in a department store at weekends and during the week when I didn't have classes, I signed up for the universities mentoring scheme and working in local secondary schools mentoring students and I became a student ambassador too so I helped at open days etc, all paid work and all fitted around my studies.
  • Can you go into small local businesses like coffee shops perhaps and see whether they're hiring weekend staff?

Missing 5 (!!) interviews is a huge amount, I am not surprised that you're now having no luck at McDonald's. You need to get over the embarrassment of having a job "in a place like that" pronto, no one is "too good" to work anywhere and people interviewing you will pick up on an attitude like that straight away.

You seem to want your actions not to have consequences. That's not how it works.

Oswestry used to have about 50 pubs when I was there. No bar work going at all?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • How about looking at this question a bit differently.

You're an adult who up till now has shown a total lack of disregard to trying to get a job, you now need money so what plan do you have other than sitting on this website hoping that someone is going to wave a magic wand and help you?
  • Um, what can i actually do ssparks2003. If I knew what to do then i would not be on here would I. And no elsien there is no bar work but I would not be good at bar work anyway because i can't really pour drinks very well

I try and stay out of the PPRd OP's threads as the modus operandus is always the same. Register on a Friday evening and start "debating" when MSE team have minimal weekend cover before going into meltdown mode.

Indeed website show card factory, aldi, starbucks, M&S, Morrisons, Prezzo and others all looking for staff in Oswestry. But its irrelevant and pointless to the OP.
