Yes, the "36Mbps" is a nominal figure - actual performance can be higher or lower. I regularly have 37-38Mpbs on my connection.

Yes, my NowTV is pretty much a solid, never varying 37.6Mbps UL, 8.2Mbps DL and a 15ms ping (dependant on which server Speedtest.net connects to).

I think Sky told me I could 'only' get 51 or 54Mbps (can't remember exactly) on their Superfast fibre so they'd only actually sell me the 36Mbps average speed (at the same cost :( ). I stuck with NowTV :)

I have just signed up to Now Broadband. I am awaiting the change over.

    Sky Cinema

I was excited about the Sky Cinema Pass offer. However, the streaming rate is not in HD (1080p). It steams at much lower resolution and it is spoiling my enjoyment of movies. It is something they seem to be working on for some time. Netflix and Prime have better streaming resolution. However, the selection of movies seem to be much better on Sky. Any way to get details of exact resolution? I am using this on Windows (with their player).

    Different Router
Their router is 2 port. I need 4 port. Is there a way of using my existing TalkTalk router?

Now TV streams at 720p HD. Unless you have a very large screen TV or a large monitor that you sit very close to, then the difference is unlikely to be huge, which points to a quality problem being something else.

AFAIK, this resolution difference (compared to Sky) is intentional and is one way of keeping the cheaper and more expensive products separate. I'm not aware of any plans to change it.

Yes, you can connect your TT router to the Now TV router and use it as a hub. That will give you access to extra ports and the USB socket. I have that configuration.

You can also use an old sky upwright router off eBay.
4 port and better Wi-Fi than newer ones

Now TV Broadband's latest offer for new customers...

Fibre BB (Superfast Fab Fibre) for £25pm

Free activation and free setup (not sure if this includes a router)

Free Anytime calls for 12 months

Half Price Cinema Pass for 12 months

    12 month contract

    offer ends 13/6/2019
Is this still ending on 13/6/19 do you know, because can't see anything about an end date on the NOW offers page or T&Cs?

Yes, it's still saying 13/6. It's on the bottom line of the Ts & Cs that appear when you click to open them.

At the moment, they are going from offer to offer, so even if you miss this one, there's likely to be something else. The free calls are a long-term freebie for new customers.

    And re-contracting existing customers :)

That said I had to use live chat this morning as they'd not actually added it to my contract and they were charging me for calls. It was very quickly sorted (as I've always found with NowTV) so kudos for that at least.

They never offered me calls. Not that I use my landline.
