Don't the terms of the (pre-existing) GFA make the WA / backstop constructively illegal?

I think it's OK, we're now talking about putting the border between NI/GB which means the GFA is OK. Sure, that's exactly what Johnson said wouldn't happen, but that's not a surprise.

At least we had some certainty since Boris got in
The only thing certain about Boris at the helm is that noone (even Boris) knows what's going to happen. Leaving at least would be a (sort of ) known quantity and get us to stability faster.

What are the odds that come Xmas, the uncertainty will be extended yet again?

Christmas 2019 or 2020? I'm pretty confident we'll still be discussing this at Christmas 2024.

Call it off or get it done, but just do something

The worst thing ever is more uncertainty

Just call it off, it is quite clear there is no political will to see this through, at the very least they should have a 2nd ref

Yes extending the uncertainty is the worst thing for the economy for house prices for everything really

It this is what will keep happening

My bet is the uncertainty will be extended even more come end of the year and then it will be extended again and again in 2020
The thing about chaos is, it's fair.

Whichever party promotes an end to uncertainty will get the most votes this election

At least calling it off would bring an end to the uncertainty

    But at what cost?
  • House prices fall another £4K on lowest volumes for a while, all due to the uncertainty being extended yet again

I wouldn’t be surprised if the uncertainty is extended again and again right to the end of 2020 and even beyond
The thing about chaos is, it's fair.
  • The only thing certain is that extended uncertainty is going to lower property even more......

    Let’s get the uncertainty done!

Oh wait this is an ongoing thing on purpose
The thing about chaos is, it's fair.
  • I suspect when there's a border in the Irish Sea, the pound is tumbling again when the threat of a no deal is rearing it's head in a year and we're still debating Brexit then people will wonder what the hell "Get Brexit Done" even meant.

Second referendum in a few months would be a better decisive action than a thrashed through half-baked deal which doesn't really suit anyone and will apply for generations.

And I say that as a leaver.
