  • Just at work so short and sweet...

The TV this would be connected to is a 58” Panasonic.

Is it mounted on on its legs?

If on the legs check the space available with the legs in their outer position (style 3) and the max hight of any sound bar.

that TV is nearly 1300 wide the JBL will look stupid at only 615.

What TV are you matching this up with?

You may be better getting a second hand sound system(people almost give them away).

keep your 150 so you can add to it and get something much better later.

Depending on where the4 OP is, I've got a 5-speaker (2 wall speakers to go behind you, 2 for either side of the TV and one sub-woofer) surround sound system they can have for £50.

I've just improved mine so this is going spare.

  • Thanks for the offer but as i say, i'm not after a home cinema set up.

The TV is on legs yes. It's in the position where they curl inwards from the outer points of the TV although as you've seen, there's various settings.

I did wonder about the size of the soundbar although a 60cm one fits just inside the legs as they curl inwards, as in there's just enough room for it.

Sit it back a bit and there's room for a 100cm one.

I've got one of these for the bedroom TV. It's far better than the TV sound and you can pick it up for a bit under £150 now.

I bought a decent LG one for £30 from Gumtree. Might be worth having a look OP, someone could be upgrading and just wanting rid of stuff.
  • Saw this one in town https://www.lg.com/uk/speakers-sound-systems/lg-SJ4 which can be bought cheaper online.

Since i don't have access to the sites that are saying these bars are a don't buy ... how does this one fare?

Not quite a Which Don't Buy but rated poorly @ 46%.
Restricting to sub £200 without sub-woofer, the highest rated are Samsung HW-J250 (75% but discontinued), Yahama YAS105 (65%) and Samsung HW-N400 (63%). The Denon DHT-T110 scores 75% but is a sound-base.
There may of course be other equally good ones but not tested by Which.

I would not trust "Which" to rate toilet paper never mind something technical.

Stick with the reviews/user experiences from the decent sites like AVforums.

When on the legs it is the hight of the bar that is important if it not going to obscure the picture.

according to the brochure you don't have a big gap when the legs are in the outer position.
