UKCPS Notification Letter
Comments

Hi all
I sent the letter in post 10 but their debt recovery agents continued to send letters and pursue me to no avail.
Anyway, UKCPS have written to me which is entitled 'letter of claim' which carries a 30 day notice. They're claiming £160 plus £25 court costs if it goes that far. They've said they'll take £130
They've enclosed a reply form which asks for information about whether I dispute etc, this can only lead me to believe they totally ignored my earlier letter. They've also cheekily provided a financial statement for completion.
Just wondering if I should bother responding at all in light of the earlier letter i sent? Would a judge frown upon me ignoring this recent letter? I'll be honest, I don't want to. I feel I've explained my position already and don't see the benefit of any further correspondence?
As I understand it, UKCPS have a history of filing claims in court. Is this correct?0 -
This is a genuine LBC. You need to respond. We the Newbies thread for examples.0

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Is the LBC actually from UKCPS or from Gladstones solicitor ?
UKCPS being the PPC don't normally take people to court themselves but use someone like Gladstones, letting them get a spanking in court.
If this is a DIY by UKCPS, attempting to add a fake £60, it would be them who gets a spanking, probably for abuse of process

Thanks all, I best have another read of the Newbie thread and send a response in that case
@beameguy, it's definitely UKCPS and not Gladstone0 -
OK so just had a read through the newbies thread in relation to the LBC and my understanding is I need to make a SAR, then ask for the case to be held in a letter pending that where I will also reiterate I disputed the charge and will defend any claim and finally complain to the landowner, assuming I can find out who it is? Anything else?
I've not complained to my local MP, pointless as it's Jarred O'Mara. Have a read up if you're not familiar with his shenanigans over the last couple of years.0 -
The landowner complaint should always be the first thing you do.
Complain to your MP anyway.
Send an SAR to the scammers if you haven't already done so. If you have, then it's pointless sending another one.
Write and tell them you deny the debt, but are seeking debt advice and therefore they must put proceedings on hold (for 30 days I think).
Use the exact words in bold.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Thanks fruitcake. I've emailed another local MP instead
I did a SAR right at the beginning f the process, any point in a new one for the latest data they hold or will any new information not be of any use now?
I'll send them a letter denying the debt and see if I can work out who the landowner is? I doubt if I ask them that they will tell me right?0 -
Evening all, will something as simple as this be sufficient for a response to the LOC?
Dear Sirs
Thank you for your letter of claim dated XXXXX.
As previously stated in my letter to you dated XXXX, attached for ease of reference, I deny the debt. Furthermore I am currently seeking debt advice and you therefore must put your proceedings on hold.
Kind Regards

Hi all, sent the email above and had a response to day titled ‘INCOMPLETE REPLY FORM - PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE’
They’re basically stating if I want to discuss the debt I need to complete the reply form within the 30 days.
I’m assuming I ignore this email and wait for them to make a claim?0
