£73.98/£180

I've been a bit lazy lately about meal planning and bad habits are creeping in again where I'm shopping for what I fancy rather than what I am planning for. I've had four small shops so far totalling £14.76 (L1d! - £3.03, @ld1 - £3.74, Te$co - £2.14, @$da - £5.85)
So I now need to go and update my freezer inventory and try for the next two weeks to use up what I have then its a menu plan next on my "To Do" list.
Chicken and mushroom lasagne tonight then things that need using or freezing are 3 slices of parma ham, red & orange peppers, cauliflower and kale so I'll make either a pizza or a quiche tomorrow, then get my thinking cap on.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £103.530 -
I stocked up on cat food and cat litter in Te$co to use a £10 off £70 voucher and now have enough to last a couple of months. Together with some light spends at A1di and sainses it comes to £79.11, so £370.73 for the year so far,Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget0

GC Spends since the beginning of month
Asda : - £76.47 (Week 1 April shop)
Asda refund : +£4.45 (missing items)
Iceland : - £55.18 (Month stock up of pop, seafood etc)
Morrisons : - £27.85 (Mother’s day cards and flowers - should have been more prepared and got these cheaper  )
Pets at home: - £42.99 (Petfood for the month)
Asda: - £58.79 (Week 2 April shop)
Total spent so far - £256.83
Remaining - £243.17
Out of the remaining balance I need to ideally save £40 for some further dog costs (vaccination tip ups)
So I am aiming for weekly shops to be circa £65 to stay on budget.
Co-op: - £2.50 (Husband top up shop:mad:)
Co-op: - £4.39 (Husband top up shop:mad:)
Asda + £3.19 (Refund of some off Salmon)
Morisons - £1.49 (Husband top up shop)
Iceland - £16.10 (I dont actually know what this was - husband again)
Vets - £43.00 (Vaccination top ups)
Asda - £51.39 (Week 3 Shop)
Remaining £130.51 for 2 weeks worth of Shopping. £65 per week - I can so do this!
Really impressed with how much we have managed to get out of the budget already this month. We have done nearly £100 in dog expenses alone (the vaccination isnt typical, dog food is!).
Also very pleased with my Asda system, online order every week, recurring delivery slot (delivery pass £5 per month after the free trial which is this month). We (I) are making sure we meal plan enough to mean we can order the weeks food. For the first two weeks we have managed without top up shops, this week DH has been a bit wild, still only spent less than £10, but with better planning we wouldn't have needed to do so!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32
Grocery challange April: £130.17of £500 target remaining0 -
wooo hooo another no spend day, although to be fair I worked 12.5 hours and have just arrived home so if I had spent something I would've been angry with myself lol0

Week 1 £72.33 ......£67.55 SM and ££4.78 Top ups against a budget of £70..
However SM shop was £72.55 but I had a £5 voucher (phew!!!) ...
My budget is spilt £60 SM and the £10 Top ups....
So I 'clawed" back by using my top ups cash but ideally I'd like to keep it to £60 for the SM shop.
I'm writing every thing down that I spend each day and then totting it up Thursday evening/Friday morning as that's generally when my new week starts....
Did a list yesterday for week2 SM. However did it differently this time....did a general list as I looked through cupboards and my running list from the week ( always jot down if I run out/ need something on next shop). Then, as I shop at Lidl,Aldi and tesco ( we much prefer certain items in each store) I made separate lists .....the bulk of my shopping is done at lidl. I then went through old receipts of each shop noting what I buy usually and whether it should be added so I don't get any 'surprises' as I walk around. I listed the prices of each item at each store and nots it on my list so I have a comparison and hopefully I can at least come in on budget !!!!
Wish me luck for today..Grocery spends £193.44/ £70 per week or £303 per month0 -
£3.69 on nothing urgent, fancied some chips and picked up other bits.
Had a sort out in loft and decided to get rid of the surfeit of suitcases, 8 altogether, 3 very large, 3 medium 1 small, from the 3 sets you buy, and 1 hard shell, advertised all on freecycle, couple of queries, 1 taker for the hard shell, neighbour took 2, 1 large 1 medium, for her M.I. who is going on a cruise. decided to advertise on facebook £5 each ALL GONE except the very small.Do I need it or just want it.0
