Smart Parking Ltd solicitors letter

Last week I received a solicitors letter on behalf of Smart Parking.
I’ve been fined in total £680. I have in total four parking fines.

18/5/2018- £170
26/52018- £170
01/6/2018- £170
22/6/2018- £170
I have received no ticket at the time I was fined, the car park is at the back of Iceland in the town I live in. I didn’t see any pay and display machine or notice. How can I challenge this? Is it fair to send out a solicitors letter threatening me that if I don’t pay I will be taken to court? These fines were for last year!!!!
If when I received the first fine I would of bought a ticket the second time I parked in the car park and probably paid the fine! But now I owe £680
They have obviously contacted DVLA and got my details. It mentions ATAs code of practice what ever that means.
I’ve never broken the law, never received a council parking ticket but as this is a private car park I guess there are different rules.
If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. I have I’ll health and this is just causing so much worry that I can’t sleep at night

Are you based in England/Wales, or Scotland?

    Which solicitors are involved?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

OK, well this is the incompetent Gladstones pimping out their letterhead ...... It's a WONGA operation, and this is a debt collector letter.

Now, debt collectors involved in the parking scam must be treated as morons and IGNORED. Trust us, we see this rubbish every day

For the moment you ignore this rubbish. Next will probably be a Letter Before Claim from Gladstones which must prove their claim and give you 30 days to respond.

When that happens, come back here and we will help you to
    zap them

In your opening post you say that you "received no ticket at the time", then I am puzzled why you did not receive four Notice to Keeper in the two weeks following each event.
