    So I have the car back now, for some reason the other headlight had been removed, I’m guessing so they could see how it should fit, but wasn’t locked back in. I’ve informed them of the error, they apologised. Will not be using them again and am debating scrapping the stupid car and getting a new one! Nothing but headache for 2 weeks!

    You're going to scrap a car because it had a couple of lamps blow?:eek:

    I'll give you a tenner for it!:rotfl::rotfl:

    Edit- In all seriousness though, what year is the Beetle? All beetles up to 2005 the headlight has to be removed to replace the lamps. There is a small lever to operate and then the whole headlight assembly just gets pulled out.

    This is not an unusual way of doing it. I replied both headlight bulbs on my volvo yesterday in the halfords car park. Took about 5 mins including complete removal of both headlight assemblies.

    I did one once for a friend. I just could not get the headlight to go back in no matter how hard I tried :mad: It needed thin nimble fingers that I don't have.
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    I wish it was that simple, it’s a 2009 so completely different removal to the 2005 model. Halfords won’t touch the bulbs in my car. They are a pain to change especially as it turned out to be a connector issue not bulbs. Which they ‘fixed’ with a bodge. And broke the release catch so you have to now Jimmy the headlight out with a crow bar. They’ve told me the car is only valued at £800 now (I’ve seen between £1800-2700 online? so Yh scrapping the poxy thing is seriously crossing my mind
