Garage taking the mick??

Long story short, booked my car in for an Mot told them I had 2 bulbs out and that I would leave them in the car with the cars manual to be changed there (you have to remove the entire headlight assembly, I can’t do it myself, I tried and failed numerous times) they agreed it was no problem, I dropped the car off evening before the mot, reiterated the bulb situation, no problems...
2 days later I called as I hadn’t had any update from them, was informed it failed on the 2 bulbs nothing else but they were abit busy but should have it done by Friday for me. Not an issue.
Friday afternoon I called to see what time I could pick up, it’s still not done. Extended to should be ready Monday, maybe Tuesday, I call Tuesday and apparently “looking at it right now” so I wait for a call and nothing... now Thursday, I’ve checked online and the mot is still not done!
They’ve not once called me and they’ve dismissed every deadline they’ve given me... what do I do here? Mot is failed and has now run out so u can’t even go there to get it!!

No I’m not that silly :rotfl:
It’s a local garage that I have used previously with no issues.
I’m not a confrontational person and I really don’t think throwing a tantrum will get it done any quicker anyway but I want my car back now,
    Any suggestions?

Go round and see them, be friendly but firm. Too easy to fob people off over the phone, harder in person.

I assume you were willing to pay for the bulbs to be fitted ( probably an hour or so's labour?)
Otherwise if they had agreed to do it free of charge I would expect it to be done when the garage was quiet and had got on top of all their other work

Yes I agreed to pay the labour costs for the bulbs to be fitted although they did say if it only took 10 minutes they wouldn’t charge me
I live in a small village about 4 miles away from the garage, I’m a single mum with a 3 year old so getting down there to speak in person isn’t really an option :(

So assuming you dropped the car off at the garage how did you get home?

Just go round and collect it and take it elsewhere. Quite possible they've damaged the light and trying to fix it!
