Yes my BT Youview box will record sky sports if subscribed .
But i see no way of just adding or recording a stream that not on the EPG .
  • Looking at a 14 day free trial of nowtv, looks like the stick is a good option especially for when on holiday to watch an important event

Someone has kindly made sense of the Youview EPG across BT, Plusnet and Talktalk:-

    https://www.tvchannellists.com/List_of_channels_on_YouView_(BT,_TalkTalk_and_Plusnet)
  • Brilliant, I was using a spreadsheet to discover the best free to view boxes and these being listed together is so much easier

It is highly likely that when speaking to NowTV CS you are speaking to the exact same people as when phoning Sky.
  • You don't need to speak to them unless you have a problem and they cannot make false contract promises if there is no contract

It sounds as though the OP's issues with Sky are about price and contract management. I can imagine NowTV's simple pricing and lack of contract probably address those issues. I've only contacted Now TV CS twice, but I found them very helpful.

Unless a person's views on different providers contradict their stated objectives, I think we have to let them have their prerogative in choosing who they want, pointing out any issues in a helpful and constructive way.
