I also have extortionate costs on data. I use rss a bit to check football scores and I have email automatically set to send/receive emails.

Would the email be sending/receiving lots of data without me knowing? How much does RSS use for a simple text page?
  • Hello,

I and my friend have had this same issue lately. Is this your first smartphone? The problem lies with the application manager, which many people don't know about (and may have resulted in you getting 'memory full' errors). If you press and hold the blue key on the left of the d-pad (just above the button with the pencil on), it brings up the application manager showing all applications running in the background (press C to close). One of these is often web, and you can sometimes end up leaving it running for weeks on end without realising, as one of your keypad buttons is a shortcut for it. You can change this shortcut to another by going to menu - tools - settings - general - personalisation - standby mode - shortcuts.

    Hope that helps!

when you were browsing facebook etc were you browsing the wap pages (https://www.m.facebook.com i think it is) or just typing in https://www.facebook.com?
see about putting a data bundle on
and the fact you only used it for 30min is a bit irrelevant as it doesnt go by time but the number of pages youve browsed, if you are quickly changing pages and browsing full web pages then useage might be possible at £3 per mb
