So filed at court N208 , it has cost us £308 it was more than we wanted to gamble on paying out but we have took the gamble (lucky the oven we needed to buy I found a near new one at half the price so freed up some cash)
So now we just wait. Someone is in the property we think as there is a tv on the wall, it has not been redecorated , well the hall way , front room and kitchen as we walked passed walking the dog yesterday and had a peen from the road, the upstairs bedroom still has our paper up too as that can be seen from the road so really if re decorated its the 2 small bedrooms which only took 1 tin of paint! I'll keep you posted so that this thread my help someone else or be a warning that courts love landlords. Lets see0 -
All irrelevant. The LL doesn't have to carry out any of the work they are claiming for.Mistymoo82 wrote: »...it has not been redecorated , well the hall way , front room and kitchen as we walked passed walking the dog yesterday and had a peen from the road, the upstairs bedroom still has our paper up too as that can be seen from the road so really if re decorated its the 2 small bedrooms which only took 1 tin of paint!0 -
Oh. Thats stupid .so i am keeping your deposit to redecorate , but i am not going to do it. How does that work0

You are compensating for damage caused.Whether the recipient uses the compensation to repair, or to go to the pub, is his choice.Mistymoo82 wrote: »Oh. Thats stupid .so i am keeping your deposit to redecorate , but i am not going to do it. How does that work
If you scratch my car, I can claim money for the scratch. I can then either get the scratch repaired, or drive around in a scratched (and hence less valuable) car. My choice.0 -
Yeah i guess that makes sence. However in my case it would be you let me your car it got scratched so i had it fully resprayed but ina dif colour you said that was fine but now its not0

Up to you, I'd probably have said £1400, as that is around the minimum you'd get.0 -
A good outcome, I can understand you dont want the stress of pushing further. I'd loved to have seen the LL's face when he finally took some advice and realised what a pickle he was in!0

Thanks for the update. Usually we never hear what happens0
