I fitted click lock LVT flooring in my kitchen - Warmer than tiles underfoot. Absorbs (some of) the sound of heavy footsteps. Forgiving if/when dropping something on the floor. Really easy to fit. Only downside it it will scratch if something heavy is dragged across the floor.

Other types of LVT flooring require gluing down - I can't/wont comment on these, and I can imagine they would be a paint to lift at some point in the future. You also wouldn't be able to put any underlay down before tiling.

Thanks not sure if I'll have choice as only voice calls yesterday mentioned quickstep lv.
I think I'de avoid glue option if it's mentioned very soon.

We had quickstep liven laid when we had our kitchen done and absolutely love it. Very easy to clean and, as already said by others, is much more resilient if something is dropped on it. Won't break as tiles might, and whatever you drop also has a fighting chance of surviving too.

Thanks it seems this type of flooring is a genuine choice.

    2. Possible timber subfloor-not sure 60's flat roof 1 bed flat.
    3. Kitchen wood door was supplied and fitted during 2017-why would it need cut?

A suspended timber floor would need additional work before ceramic/porcelain tiles are laid.
This would add to the overall height of the floor, and the door may well need trimming to suit. You would also end up with a (small) step between the tiled floor and the rest of the rooms.

Is that an expensive addition, though I'll probably get estimates neared end July.
Excellent advice from mser's which I can use when receiving quotes.
I have one from 22nd July and one phone call next Monday (the porcelain tiler-does depend on which type of floor my kitchen is)

Thanks mser's until next Monday or which ever estimate arrives 1st.

Door may need trimming to fit over quickstep liven too. It is laid on an insulating base which is about 4mm thick and the flooring itself is a similar thickness.

I know new doors were fitted with small gap.
Take a guess and almost certain it's +4mm's.
Though quick AI app -living room door gap is over .5cm
Though kitchen gap seems considerably shorter -though still very small gap above existing tile effect vinyl+gold strap -cannot say if above 4mm's
Edited insulation + flooring will be 8mm approx-lets hope it's not much thicker than what's already down.

    Thanks for your kind advice.

New call today is 30 pounds per sq meter fair cost to install porcelain type tiles.
Possible quote from next Monday evening, then i should be able to either go ahead with tiles and arrange or keep following Monday for quickstep quote.
Though I want to inform tradesman asap as I'm can only make one choice.

Almost beginning to panic at thought of required physical work required.
Is an electrician recommended to disconnect electric cooker and reconnect after kitchen floor is fitted.
That's going to be more quotes or is it 1 hour hire each visit.

Thanks in advance I can forget for a few days until 1st quote is offered Monday evening , if it doesn't sound reasonable , I'll pay 10 Pounds and allow following person to quote quickstep vinyl following Monday

1st non attended tradesperson for last nights quote.
    Until Next Monday.
Quick question for mset'r if I say over 5meters squared not as much as 10 square meters.
How much cost could I offer to advertise another tradesman to lift my existing flooring -I thought it was Linyl though it seem very harder and possibly some kind of tile or tiles effect.
Is this a job I could request via check a trade or similar -is it a handyman or builder i need.
Asking as next weeks quote Person doesn't lift flooring only fits it

    Thanks in advance
