2.1X2.3 meters cost of fitting simple floor tiles.

I've calculated as quick scan my kitchen floor as 2.1*2.3 meters approx.
Possibly from summer time be it June July I'de like to request a local tradesperson to fit the tiles.
Imperiali, (L)600mm(W)600mm Anthracite Porcelain 1 -from B&Q
https://www.diy.com/departments/imperiali-l-600mm-w-600mm-anthracite-porcelain-1/966557_BQ.prd
I think 4or 5packs should cover total floor area including fridge freezer+washer dryer area.
5*£16 per pack £80.
My question -what estimate cost does a tradesperson take and is it my responsibility to buy the adhesive.

Mser's not available to quote removal of existing tile effect kitchen floor and installation of mentioned flooring from b@q.
Is it going to be hundreds for a tradesman.

  • Probably charge you a day plus grout (plenty of cutting) plus any prep reqd.
Best to take a couple of photo's showing the existing and a dimensioned plan.
    Send out emails.

Thank you for your Time and detailed advice.
Do I send photos to a chosen tradesperson or upload to mse.
If it's a day or two then maybe it can be done late June/early July .
    I seen grout b@q site..
Do the traders on charge per room area or hourly fee.
I'll get photos this weekend including the messy part beneath cooker.
Very much appreciated as 2019 Summer means I get the badly needing replaced kitchen floor done.

Does it have to be tiles?

Most retailers will give you an estimate for fitting for vinyl or laminated tile products based on a floorplan.

I paid £55 to local carpet shop fitters to install vinyl in my kitchen (about 3m x 2m).

Get a few local tradesmen to visit and quote if you can. Ask neighbours/friends if they can recommend anyone. Note that porcelain tiles are hard to cut, so that increases the labour time. A tradesman should be able to supply his own cement. If you want coloured grout (such as white instead of standard grey) that will be an extra cost. If the tiles are to go under appliances, they will have to be moved. Gas cookers aren't so easy to move.

Yes, they are real porcelain tiles. Nice though.

This is what I mean by a Tile-effect laminate product: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Mustang-Slate-Effect-Laminate-Flooring---2-5m2-Pack/p/225302?reccs=pdpsimilar

Thanks two white goods I could move myself fridge freezer + washer dryer - that's the hidden part of floor in addition to floor area.
Tiles could be fitted upto electric cooker rather than disconnecting it temp.
I'll be using either 'rated people' or check trade' to get maybe two quotes though I have done very well with various diy jobs from both sites.
Thanks wonder if I could use savings and maybe arranged everything for no more than 200-250 pounds.
Thanks alll mser's for providing essential advice.
I'm limited to digi photos and booking tradesman online.

Maybe your choice is what is already on my kitchen floor
Grey with white grouting tile effect..
Whatever it is it has lasted a considerable number of years as I moved in late 2009.
    Thanks!

The tiles you have chosen almost certainly need sealing before grouting, which will add to the time taken - probably into the next day to allow time for the sealant to dry.

From experience, I wouldn't choose those tiles. They are horrendous to keep clean, attract water marks and when we had dark polished porcelain tiles from B&Q some 10 years ago, you could even see sweaty footprints made by people wearing socks. I had to polish ours after cleaning to buff the water marks off.

I laid a wood floor laid over them very quickly indeed.
