As POPLA are confirming this, Britannia have accessed your personal data without reasonable cause. They should already know as professionals (ho ho) that they were deficient and yet went ahead and grabbed your very sensitive personal data. That could be a serious breach of the DPA/GDPR.

If you’re up for a further fight, write a letter of complaint, to the DVLA and demand they investigate this. If you get a fob off from them, you could increase the pressure via Freedom of Information Request, where they will find it more difficult to slither.

Also, to prepare yourself for the complaint do a forum search on keywords ‘Portswood POPLA’ and see if POPLA have previously found against Britannia on the same grounds. If they have, then there was no excuse for Britannia to access your data.
