WiFi or data, which will phone connect to?

When a mobile phone is on to both WiFi and data in home, which does it connect to automatically?

Well mine have always used wi-fi when connected to both phone and data. If you want some reasurance you can tell which is being used if you do a speed test and know what speeds to expect from both of your connection types.

Usually whatever's faster which will typically be wifi.

I keep mobile data switched off to force wifi. Rarely need mobile data the way I use my phone.

The phone will always defer to WiFi if connected, so no need to to switch data off.

Because to resurface a thread that had already been answered to provide the same answer as previously provided would be the action of a prospective spammer. I was giving the poster the benefit of the doubt.

Op here. Twice in the last couple of years I've come close to my data limit. Once abroad and recently where I didn't have WiFi access. Hopefully this won't happen again, but just needed clarification. Gaining extra 2GB in June anyway. Thanks for help.
