Jet 2 Flight Delay Query

13 Posts

I claimed for compensation due to my flight from Dalaman to Manchester in September being delayed for 2 whole days.
I have received a reply saying the original delay was due to the aircraft being late into Dalaman (from the UK)whilst operating the preceding rotation which was due to an engineering issue and a medical emergency on board. They calculated this delay at 2 hours 39 however due to the medical offload being an extraordinary delay then they counted it as 1 hour 44 mins.
On the way into Dalaman the flight was diverted to Bodrum due to a severe thunderstorm. Once it did finally land in Dalaman the crew had to undergo a minimum period of rest. The airline are saying all the above is due to ‘extraordinary circumstances’ and therefore no compensation is due.
Is this correct as all the above happened on a flight I was not booked on, it just delayed the return journey to Manchester which was my actual flight?

That means nothing, Bott's flight checker never gives a negative result. What does EU Claim say?
The answer to the above question is that it is easier to let Botts pursue it by a long chalk, but they take a big chunk of the compensation. Doing it for yourself also makes you get skills which you can use in other situations. Download Vauban's guide (google), read it, and see how you feel.
I've never seen that and as I mentioned in another thread, I've had claims dropped by Bott that are still showing as claimable years after the fact. Even if negative results exist, I think it's fair to say that Bott's flight checker isn't a reliable indicator of anything. Of course, that has nothing at all to with whether or not the OP has a valid claim.
Just search the site for details.
