  • Hi all a little better, still have migraine and I'm nauseous with it, but manageable.

WI results from last night was STS, my wife has 1 1/2 off. I'm going to try my best and shed 2lb this week, as I have day surgery on Friday and after effects are going to quite unpleasant for me for 5-10 days post op (hoping migraine side effects and after effects has subsided by Friday too), and I'm not allowed to do much or go anywhere as I'm not allowed to drive for 7 days after.

Well done FrankieM on SOTW :T

*SOTW is the person who lost most this week who also lost or maintained last week.

Chrisv .... Bit late lately....Trying to keep up with everything....But, pleased to say I have got back on it with a -1/2lb for week 3 ... Why is it in winter there is not a lot to do but as soon as the weather breaks, bedlam starts...:rotfl:

I think its going to be a good week, although its Wednesday already. Off to Wales on Saturday to see my fledglings....Funeral on Monday and a drive back home in the evening...

Hope all is well....Will try to keep up this week but I think another late weigh-in is on the cards for me...

All good points, thank you. The lamb was a treat; thankfully it's not something we have often - delicious though!

Same here. Lamb is so expensive now. I only buy it when it's YS! Even though it's a treat it's still Syns (unfortunately!)

Excuse the daft question but can anyone recommend the best porridge oats to buy?

I just buy any SM own brand. Like Maman I don't like the branded oats as they are too fine.

I think most oats sold in a box rather than pots or sachets if measured would be a B option but I'm keen for a porridge option that's not full of sugar iyswim

    Thanks

I buy Aldi oats. Just recently they've been selling Mornflake rather than own brand. Both are fine. I like coarse oats and have found branded ones too smooth.

Today I've had porage with skinny syrup so absolutely free and yummy!

    Will post menu later. :)

Glad you enjoyed your porridge with the skinny syrup! What flavour did you buy? I'm currently using S'Mores and bought Glazed Donut & Salted Caramel for it runs out.

    Today's plan:

B - porridge with skinny syrup (snap Maman), grapes & melon
L - jacket potato; cottage cheese with mix with a little parmesan for a bit of flavour; mixed salad leaves, cucumber, tomato, spring onions, pickles
D - shepherds pie made with 125g of l0% lamb mince. Will add onions, grated carrots, garlic, chopped mushrooms. Will serve with some green veg. Gravy made with Oxo cubes & thickened with Xanthm Gum

    HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - little parmasan (not full amount!)
    HEB - porridge

    Syns - lamb mince 2.5

Frankie I did the paper food diary the first 4 weeks and handed them in, and found it really made me think about eating the right foods. So I asked for some more to continue after the 4 weeks were up. Then a friend pointed out, on the SW website (NOT the app) is a feature called Weight Loss Planner, which lets you log all your food on a daily basis and will label it Speed, P, HE, how many Syns, etc. You can also log your Activity if you want to. I have been doing that ever since, on my ipad. You can easily see at a glance what you have consumed during the day, and in the evening how many Syns you have left 😉😎. It works better for me than the random sheets of paper. HTHS.

    Poundsinbucks x ;)

I use the online meal planner every day. I started using the Activity bit but gave up with it as it was easier just to use my Fitbit!

Met a friend for lunch. Chose “winter warmer” which was a jacket potato and roasted veg. I averted my eyes from the huge homemade cakes which must have been 8” high!

How many syns in those little packs of butter you get with a jacket spud?

    They're generally 10g and 3.5 syns penny.:)

I bought the salted caramel skinny syrup denise as I thought it was the closest flavour to the golden syrup I'm used to. That was in TKMaxx like you suggested. It was fine as a replacement. It'll make up for the chocolate I had (about 3.5 syns worth) when I was watching the football. DH is a bad influence.;)

I portioned up the savoury mince for the freezer and kept a portion out for my lunch tomorrow. Now DH has to go out to eat tonight as a colleague who was entertaining a client is unwell. Someone has to do it.:D

So the Bolognese I had planned for tonight can wait and I'll have the savoury mince tonight with a JP.:) I'm glad my meal plan is flexible.:D

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk and skinny syrup
L: cold beef, LO fried veg, beetroot
D: JP with savoury mince and pickled cabbage
    Syns: None

As I'm eating early I'll maybe feel hungry later but if I snack I'll try to make it SW friendly.:)

I was disciplined!:D I had half of one of those Aldi bars of the 70% cocoa, just enough for the bitter chocolate taste.

I quite like a notebook and writing things down, but I'll take a look at the online version, so thanks.

One of the ladies at group has a notebook (which is what inspired me) and she colour codes everything. It looks fab, but a bit too much for me. :)
