Good morning
It was a day of mixed successes yesterday. More new roadworks meant a 5 mile tailback into small town. I managed a small shop on the way back from throwing DD out late at school, but abandoned hope of getting to fill the car with petrol.
I got back just in time to set off in the opposite direction to meet an old friend for lunch. Its been well over a year since we met up as setting a date is nigh on impossible. We first met over 20 years ago at a German class! Anyway - lovely lunch, watched the rain, nothing else much done apart from the dailies.
Right now it is tipping it down. I keep thinking of Rosie holed up on a street and how lucky that she found Iona. :j
I have 20 minutes before work so I will run the vacuum quickly round the LR.
Have a lovely day all.0 -
Morning
Not too sure where yesterday afternoon went!
Oven cleaning stuff is spread on the oven, the metal trays etc are soaking inthe sink
Recycling is out
Kitchen to be done after oven cleaning, other wise I will have to clean it twice, no point in that.
It chucked it down with rain here yesterday, today the sun is currently out and it seems quite bright.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Popping in to do some chores for today. Have to confess today's level 1 is quite a large job for me as my hall/stairs/landing is pretty large so 13ft window won't get done as it's up high and need a ladder to reach; will endeavour to do other chores though. Been looking at the stairs and putting it off as it's the one place my robot vacuum cleaner can't do. Time to kick my own butt.
HALLWAY/STAIRS/LANDING
Clear floor
clean windows/door glass
Dust any wood
Clean door mats

So sorry to hear about DancePops and your mother's health issues. (((Hugs))) Dancemum. Glad to hear Mr Narco's mother is improving.Swap sides.. put your stuff in his side.. if the smell moves.. it is him who is stinking.. if it stays at the same side I'd rip out the wardrobes, possibly replace them. I am extreme and excessive though.
No, your suggestions are not extreme and excessive. Asking OH to remove his clothes from the wardrobe so I can tear it down and rebuild it, and then asking him to move out so the same problem doesn't recur in the newly built-in wardrobe would be extreme and excessive. And I am absolutely not moving my lovely few clothes into his smelly part of the wardrobe.
I will take all of his stuff out when he's away for a few days and scrub and air it thoroughly. Once I've established the niff is not in the wardrobe itself, which will take a good 48 hours I will put the stuff that passes muster (unfortunate word in the circumstances) back.
I'm not sure what to do with his old jumpers and all of his shoes, which is where *I think* the problems are.
There would be much gnashing of teeth, weeping and wailing if he knew what I'd got planned so we'll just keep that between ourselves for the moment.
Poor soggy little Rosie, Ionafan. Kelpie never noticed the rain his coat was so thick, and over the padding of his generously proportioned fat layer when I first adopted him. I think Rosie and Kelpie were at either end of the neglect spectrum, with Rosie suffering far more. Kelpie did love love love being towelled dry though, so even if he didn't like rain he'd have raced out into to just for that! And yes, he was fully intelligent enough to have worked out the link between rain and towels. Still haven't been able to find a suitable adoptee, and we're off to London for a long weekend towards the end of March so I think I need to lay off the search for a couple of weeks although I can't help myself sometimes.
The lovely ferry, Roscoff, Morlaix and St Pol de Lyon were all fabulous, and I spent far too much money on beautiful French food and clothes with a bit of jewellery thrown in for good measure. Good thing it's my birthday next month, so OH won't have to go to the trouble of working out what to give me.
House is still looking reasonable although there is quite a bit of new stuff to put away, and only one of my long To Do list from Tuesday is left, and that's not too urgent.Better is good enough.0 -
Oven and hob are done, oven pride seemed to do its job with a good helping of eblow grease.
Car hoovered out
Back of garage, removed the leaves, then hoovered it, just need OH to move his motorbike out so I can do the rest of it.
Been shopping £10.51 spent so within this months budget.

Kitchen draws cleaned out.
Guttering on side of house has a major leak and sort of collasped, so found 2 companies to come out and give me a quote to replace. I would to it, but it is 1st floor level, and I don't have a long ladder!

We have heating, hot water and a working hob again.
Bit miffed the bloke ripped the door off the electricity meter rather than asking Himself for the key, and dumped the food recycling bins in the lavender, but I'm actually vaguely warm.
Crap day at work with my boss changing requirements from merely unrealistic to the moon on a stick with multicoloured sprinkles on top, all to be completed in 90 minutes tomorrow, a repairman it's taken two years for her to approve booking (and only has now because there's a week before it's a disaster) cancelling - I've managed to find somebody else who will be in at the same time they were due in, but I'm not going to tell her until tomorrow, because she will probably rip my head off for the firm she approved cancelling (like it's my fault), she's copped a strop because I refused to work all weekend for no pay for three weeks when I'll most likely get my redundancy notice less than 72 hours later - and I'm hungry.
Very, very hungry.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Hope today is a better day today JoJo..
I am tired this morning, but paid stuff to do, then said I would go to hospital with DS1 for his regular treatment, just to keep him company. Have ordered an Asd@ shop to collect, then it will be weekend!
Have been flying to my own lists this week but house looking fairly decent which is good.
Have a good Friday all x0 -
1.5 hours of admin work just done, shredder is on overtime
Kitchen done
I inadvertently last night, shut the cat in the garage, I thought it was odd as he didn't come for his cuddle as he does about 9pm, and said so to OH, who say he would be out wandering around, OH open garage and there he was, he is ok and currently on the bed, but scared by any loud noise, he has had a cuddle, I feel so bad..........

(((Hugs))) for Dancemum and Mrs MP.
I've scrubbed the kitchen sink so it's all shiny again, tidied the kitchen and dining room, made lunch, stuck the breadmaker on and sent an urgent email.
I've also cleared the first section of the sundeck, swept it, poured boiling water over it, hoicked out all the dead plants in a couple of pots, turned them over and planted some very strange tubery-things and sweetpea seeds, and washed the plant saucers, pots, pot feet and backdoor. That corner looks much better, but it started to rain as I was finishing up, so that's a much as I'm doing out there today.
In the communal front garden I've seeded the big bald circle where a horrible leylandi got chopped down 13 years ago after the trunk finally blew down in one of the gales last month, and the chap who mows the grass hoicked out the rotten thing and flattened and smoothed over the hole it left.
All I have to do now is tidy up the landing which is piled high with stuff that needs to go into the attic and clear a bit of paperwork, have a lazy bath and go to a 7.00 pm meeting which is going to be 'lively' if the newspaper letters page is anything to go by. We live in interesting times.Better is good enough.0
