Right:
- breakfast eaten
- tried to ring friend - 3rd attempt in 3 days - but still no answer; will pop round later
- I've showered and dressed and filed my nails
- DH's hair cut
- bed tidied
- washing sorted
I'm calling a HHC starting at 9.50. Anyone want to join me?0 -
In my HHC I
- did all Level 1 and Level 2
- hoovered kitchen floor
- planned to use up a red cabbage when I have bought a cooking apple (later)
- started delicate whites wash
- defluffed filter and around door on TD
- brought a few bits upstairs
Next QHC will start as soon as I have made and drunk :coffee:, at about 10.45. That should be enough to S&S the bathroom (i.e. whatever mess DH left after his shower - I did my bit earlier) and tidy the papers in the study.
Pleased to report that the single bed in the study has remained free of paperwork all weekend0 -
Morning all. Posivibes for those returning to work, going for interviews, docs etc.
Work done for me for today. Before I left I did the dailies, walked the dogs and changed the bedding. About to clean the table and dust the dining area from today's list before having an early lunch and then going out for a couple of hours.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Not a bad morning of flying. Mr N was going to visit his Mum after his gym this morning, then we'll both go this eve.
- one load washing on line
- washing up done
- kitchen worktops decluttered , quite a marathon
- worktops and some units wiped
- floor swept and mopped
- solar meter read and put on line
- bit of drum practice done, and found a bag to keep my rapidly increasing collection of sticks, music etc in.
- long chat to BIL on phone
- answered a few emails
Now stopped for a coffee. This afternoon we're going round to give MILs flat a good clean, then go to supermarket.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Sorry I've been MIA again; life was very, very busy last week. It was a mixture of extremely hard work and fun, so I'm shattered today but mostly on top of Flying; or, at least as much as I will ever be. I've still got a pile of unread newspapers, but I'm slowly getting through them; three hit the recylcing bin last week, and only one new one arrived. We're going to London towards the end of March for a long weekend, so there will be plenty of reading time on the train up and back. Good.
(((Hugs))) Mrs MP. Life has thrown a couple of really horrible things your way recently. I hope it is extremely kind to you for the foreseeable future.
I realise it's probably too late, but I hope your OH's interview goes/went well Jojo.
Happy settling in to your new home, Miss Valli. Valli, I switched off signatures for months; yours and lovely, and thank you.
(((Hugs))) for your OH, his mother and you, Narco, and the hope that the difficult behaviour is very, very temporary.
(((Hugs))) ATB. Life sounds very hectic. Please look after yourself.
Welcome back Elly68.
And someone delurked to make a comment, but I can't remember who it was - Hello!!!!!
Well done Roundtuit. Dot-to-dotting works wonders on areas that took years to get into the state this house was in, and although it's taken me years to get this house back to a state that I can be happy about, trying to do it all in one hit would have defeated me completely. There still isn't a single drawer, cupboard or space that doesn't need re-doing, but this time each one will take minutes, 30 mins max, whereas before the whole thing was totally unmanagable because there was no space left to move anything to while I sorted something out. It's such a relief, and living with the cleared spaces, one new one at a time, was such a pleasure I'm now able to let stuff go that I've had for decades. Most of it was given to me so that my parents wouldn't have to deal with it all, carload by carload, when I bought this house. As they both died over 12 years ago I no longer feel even a twinge when it leaves the house; I've got the memories and things I really treasure - the rest isnow genuinely just clutter. You're doing brilliantly.
Is the bed in your study still clear, Ionafan? Great going if it still is - that must be the longest it's been clear for months!
Flyladies, I need some serious help. About 18 months ago, maybe longer, maybe three years ago, I noticed a distinctly unpleasant whiff in OH's part of the wardrobe. (It's built in to the corner of the bedroom and my clothes are on a hanging rail at rightangles to his.) I made him clear it out completely, wash down the walls, interior sides and doors, aired it for about 48 hours, got cedarwood shelves to go back in rather than the MDF offcuts that had been there for years, made him take everything that couldn't be washed to to dry-cleaners, and washed every single thing that could be washed. It was niff free for about a year, but the unpleasant whiff is now back. It's not BO; it's just stale. The only way to shift it is to open up the door and put the electric fan on it for a few hours and it's fine again, but we've now had to do that three times. My side is still niff free, but clearly whatever the problem is hasn't been cured. Can anyone suggest what we're getting wrong? What is it that we haven't thought of that's causing the problem? I just can't figure it out and I'm tired of having to deal with the smell.Better is good enough.0 -
Honey Bear, could there be something under / behind / on top of his side of the wardrobe, or something left in a pocket? is there an air vent or similar behind it and it is coming in from another room, it is near the guttering on the outside and some how that is causing a problem?
