  • Initial thoughts from me would be:

Is it possible for you to complete an SOA as that will fill in some gaps, currently it feels like there is a lot of information missing?

I don't think you can afford to be repaying the loan to your friend at £50 a month.

Are you able to get a job around the children and your partners work?

Why is he on UC as a single person, do you not live together?

Is the car insurance £108 per month? that is very expensive.

It might be worth doing a spending diary for a month to see exactly where all your money is going, including his smoking etc, I did some quick calculations and based on the limited information you give above, I worked out you would have £282 left but that doesn't take in to account your food shopping and other spends missed out above.

I think maybe it would be best for you to contact citizens advice, they will be able to check that you are claiming everything you are entitled to and may be able to help you with a repayment plan for the debts you have outstanding.

It will cost him £320 a month to travel by public transport. We do not even spend that much on present but it wouldn’t let me put 0 . We do not have contents insurance

If your husband is being unhelpful with regards to cigarettes, carshare and a slightly baffling single person claim, have you sat him down with this budget so he can see for himself it's not sustainable?

Your priorities have to be rent, food council tax before repaying of any other debt. So you need to check you are maximising your income, stop paying the unsecured debts for now then get help from one of the debt charities as to where to go from there.
And do whatever you need to go make your husband see sense.

Edit - can you also find the APRs for the loans and add those on? What were the loans for - specific items or day to day spending because you were struggling?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

How/why is he claiming UC as a single person.

Remember paying council tax is a priority and should be paid before anything else apart from rent
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

We had a problem with UC as I am from EU but been here 14 years working for 10
When we both applied they told me I didn’t pass the habitual test because at the time I wasn’t a worker(my daughter was 1year old)I’ve got meeting this week to put me again as join claim.
