Irritating Wi-Fi problem

Thanks again for the responses. Don't really want to go into his router settings unless I have to, just because it is not mine, obviously. Will run this by him.
Thanks again.0 -

Is the SSID hidden some devices don't like hidden SSIDs. Some people hide the SSID for security reasons although it actually doesn't do anything for security and can cause connection problems.0

On his hard wired Desktop PC, we logged in to the router settings but seemed to be unable to make any changes, channels included. He is with Virgin Media so would they need to be contacted in advance to allow us to amend anything? I wouldn"t have thought so.
Anyway, happy ending time now. After serious consideration, we decided on a Factory reset since virtually nothing majorly important had been installed since he got the device. Once that was done, we connected to his Wi-Fi network and hey presto, instant success. A last resort, but sometimes necessary, especially if you have nothing to lose
HUGE thanks again to all of you who helped out. 0
