Have you tried "forgetting" that WiFi network on the tablet, and then adding it again?
Have you tried the tablet on any other WiFi network?
Does the tablet see any WiFi networks at all?0 -

Yes, tried the forget option a few times. Not yet tried it on another network. Yes, other Wi-Fi Networks display as available.
Inexplicably at one point today, connection was made but pages were slow to load but ultimately wouldn't even get that far after we accessed the tablet's browser thinking the matter had been somehow resolved. Showed as "connected" throughout then went to "out of range" again. His phone connects to the network, stays connected and web pages load rapidly. Just don't get this.0 -

Latest update is that we connected the tablet to MY Wi-Fi this time with the same unfortunate result of no pages loading in the browser. There is no logic to this as far as I can see. Sometimes the tablet shows as connected, sometimes with the out of range on the Wi-Fi network after tablet is turned off and then back on again several times.

My son-in-law has had this trouble trying to connect my new (to me) laptop to my wifi. Finally solved it by changing channels - in spite of 6 being the recommended one, it works now he has changed the channel to 11.0

Are you running 2.4 Ghz or 5Ghz wifi ? I have seen a couple of tablets that did not like the 5 Ghz at all, obviously supposedly 5 Ghz compatible and would auto select the 5 Ghz if the SSIDs were the same. I set the router to different SSIDs for each and the tablets ran fine on 2.4 Ghz.0
