Update after Morg and DMP payments made today - my total balance is approx 84,487.00.
One of the four cards have now defaulted me which I think means I won’t get any more charges added?
Very busy with work at the moment and I’ve also succumbed to a cold virus - hoping it clears soon
More overtime today and tomorrow then the weekend off after that I’ve committed to overtime for the next couple of weeks including weekendsStarted this journey in 2013 (on a previous diary) with approx 94,000 total of morg and debt combined

Since my last update I had a lovely weekend off work. I caught up with friends on Saturday and had a lovely meal out with family on Sunday. Also caught up with food shopping and house jobs.
Back to the grindstone yesterday. Overtime most days this week and I’m also working Saturday and Sunday too.
I sold the last of the four eBay items on Sunday and posted it today. Minimal profit two pounds I think after postage and fees, but it’s better than nothing and gone into the house update fund. I have quite a few more items to list but it’s finding the time to do it - I’ll try and fit it in next week.
On track with all my budgets which I’m happy about.
Off to catch up on diaries and news night to see what the latest is on the brexit nightmareStarted this journey in 2013 (on a previous diary) with approx 94,000 total of morg and debt combined

Quick update hadn’t realised how long it was since I last logged in - although I have been reading diaries in between updates.
All is ticking along nicely here, sticking to budgets although finding groceries more and more expensive so I’m shopping very carefully and being more creative with what I can find on offer / reduced etc. I love salmon but not willing to pay what they want in most places. Every so often there’s offer on a full piece about 12 pound a kg but not seen any for a while.
Lots of overtime worked since I last logged in and I’ve worked the last two weekends and I’m working Easter weekend too. Should still have time to do some social things hopefully.
Hope everyone is well and doing okay on the debt busting front. I must add my creditors have been fab with my DMP and I hardly hear from them. I think one of them has defaulted me already so hopefully the remaining 3 will follow suit soon.Started this journey in 2013 (on a previous diary) with approx 94,000 total of morg and debt combined

Just caught up on your diary. You are doing great and I love your work/life balance.
I can learn a thing or two about budgeting from you. Will be followingIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Buffer fund 0/100

Long time since my last update. I have been reading others posts but don’t seem to have had chance to gather my thoughts to update. I’ve been working lots of overtime but have also had a lovely short budgeted break in Spain - it was fab I really enjoyed the time to relax and enjoy myself. On the budgeting / debt front my dmp is ticking along nicely and all my bills are up to date. Still a long long way to go but I’ll get there eventually. I’ve not gone over budget since I started the dmp and I’ve found that keeping a spending record keeps me well on track. Food is one area I have to keep an eye on and I’m using about three or four shops / supermarkets to get the best deals for my weekly shopping. Like lots of people I do like salads this time of year and all the salad extras I’m finding expensive so may have to look at making my own coleslaws cous cous etc .
Hope everyone is doing ok and enjoying life whilst clearing their debts.Started this journey in 2013 (on a previous diary) with approx 94,000 total of morg and debt combined

I must be having fun as the time has flown by since my last update ! Everything is ticking along nicely with my dmp infact one of the lenders has been in touch for an update and as offered to lower my repayment as they think my budget is tight. I’m managing okay at the moment but will see how I go and might reduce later. Three out of four lenders have defaulted me now which I understand is a good thing? All four have stopped interest which is brilliant.
My total outstanding balance on the mortgage and dmp is 82603. My pension is performing quite well too so I’m hoping in the next few years to be able to draw this and pay everything off.
Work is going well - I’m getting overtime when I want it and unsocial extra payments too which boosts my pay.
I’ve had some good social events over the last month and plenty more booked to look forward to over the next few months including a few days away with family.
I’m having some updates done to my home , nothing too expensive and all budgeted for. I like to keep my home updated as one option for the future is to downsize a little and free up some cash, although this is my last preferred option (I’d rather stay here) if it’s kept updated then I’d get the best price.
Hope all is good with whoever reads this.Started this journey in 2013 (on a previous diary) with approx 94,000 total of morg and debt combined

Thanks for dropping by and reading. It took me a lot of years to get to grips with budgeting although in my defence I was a single mum and sometimes times were hard, but I’m here now and thanks to this amazing site I’m doing ok I’ve had a quick skim read of your diary and wow you’re doing fab. I’ll have a proper read later.Started this journey in 2013 (on a previous diary) with approx 94,000 total of morg and debt combined

Lovely day today - short shift at work -lovely time spent with my grandchild and time well spent working in my little garden.
Another 4.50 eBay profit in the house do up fund and I’ve listed another lot of items to sell so fingers crossed.
Working tomorrow and overtime booked for Friday.
Number crunching tonight after food shopping today. Doing well with food shopping at the moment and keeping on top of advance meal prep and freezing so I’ve got plenty of choice in the freezer.Started this journey in 2013 (on a previous diary) with approx 94,000 total of morg and debt combined
