I wonder how many households will become untouchable because they can't be guaranteed a decent minimum speed so providers won't touch them.

They will just be unable to get the "deals", cashback, prepaid credit cards etc etc that come with the long minimum term. I would think that 30 day minimum term suppliers would still accept them.

    It doesn't cover you.

    From the article
    What are your new rights?
Here's what providers signed up to Ofcom's new code of practice are required to do from tomorrow (Friday 1 March 2019). The changes will only apply to deals signed up to from tomorrow and NOT existing contracts.

So you have to sign up on or after 1st March 2019.

Hi, not good news for me unfortunately!
I am a Vodafone customer, and have had in issue logged with them from February relating to my sync speeds falling from 25 Mbps to below 22 Mbps over a period of a few days.
As my Min Guaranteed speed at his time was 22Mbps, they arranged a home visit from Openreach who found a fault at the fibre cabinet that my line is connected to.
Come 1st March, my minimum guaranteed speed was reduced to 18 Mbps by BT wholesale.
Vodafone now refusing to action this work on my line as "I am receiving over the guaranteed minimum speed" and would have to fall below 18Mbps before they will take any further action.
Vodafone haven't even signed up to the new COP !
Bad news for anyone connected to a fibre cabinet by a long length of copper.or aluminium wire I'm afraid - Well done Ofcomm!
    Anyone else had similar experience?

Yes anyone that has a long cable or an old cable could have the problem .
Change ISP and its still the same cable .

Openreach have started a rollout of FTTP replacing the old cables .
