I suspect that the statement by facebook - which I haven't seen - will be very careful in what it says.

Probably were careful by the look of it - that's why it isn't clear that Tommy himself said those words. They should know that he may have the means to sue for defamatory comments, which is why I think the words complained about were not directly attributed to him.

Why are you misquoting my post? - im not. You know, the one including the quote of someone else's post - indeed, except Katrina's post wasn't aimed at you. , which it is a parody of? - it wasn't very good parody So as the point isn't missed and I am represented accurately? - not my job to accurately represent you

Did you say the same thing to hollydays, who started it? By calling me a bigot? - nope. You and Holydays went tit for tat. Katrina's comments were not aimed at you

I'm not missing the point - I was making one.
Your point isn't clear. You're either suggesting that freedom of speech is ok, but then parroting someone.

Or you're saying that abuse is ok- which it isn't.

I know as much as the BBC reported on the Tech section of their online news site.

Robinson banned for the reasons stated.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-47371290

Youd do well to have a read of the rules of this site before you go the way of tommy robinson.

You suffer the same problem. Your not discussing anything. You just want to rant and rave until everyone listens to you.

By all means discuss the negatives of facebook banning someone, i suspect youre less objective to them doing it when its thos people who johnny robinsons targets are being banned?

This is very simple. Facebook is a private company. You have to adher by its rules if you wish to use it. If one of those rules was that you had to make mark zuckaberg a brew 17 times a day then in order to use it that is what you would have to do.

Same as this site, it has rules, i suspect youre contravening them and as such i expect you to have your posting priviliges removed shortly. You can say what you want about fairness but this is what you agree to by using this site. If you dont play along, they stop you playing.

No one is stopping tommy robinson from saying what he wants on the streets. If he came in to my house and said what he says id kick him out too.

You have no right to parody it against me, I didn't call you a thing.

Thread reported. I think Stephen's mummy is getting cross.

You called Tommy Robinson a disgusting human being. So I called you the same.

I might have empathy with the man, and nobody asked you for your opinion. Perhaps I should have said something about your mom - would that have been OK?

But that is nothing to do with Facebook and is entirely to do with freedom of speech in the UK...

Now I agree that there are many prosecutions that shouldn't happen, and the law does need to be refined (or revoked), but again facebook aren't responsible for that

That's right - users are responsible for their actions. But in this case Facebook and the BBC make it sound like Tommy Robinson wants people to be killed - by way of disingenuous reporting.

    what racism is being defended?
  • I can't believe we have a two page thread defending racism and fascism.

We haven't, we do however, have a two page thread where most people are discussing freedom of speech.

But it wasn't hollydays' post that was quoted or referred to. Get your facts right if you're going to "have a go". ;)

Er...someone called me a name - I called them a name back. Someone said I shouldn't call people names. I said that I did it because they did it. My name calling was quoted and called out, theirs wasn't.

If someone wants to call me a bigot I have licence to call them whatever. They may not be that, but so what? I don't care. They didn't care that I'm not a bigot, but chose to say it anyway.
