depends how late thursday?0

Custardy is correct, depends on the cut off time of the PO's.
Ours is 12.30, so after on Thursdays I would be saying Monday!0 -
Hi, PO open until 5.30pm, they accept SD until 5pm as their collection is just after then - we posted at 4.05pm on Thu (receipt time) and were not made aware of any problems or possible delays etc.
Only another £500 or so a year in post and we should qualify for business collection (yeehah) - no idea what happens with COP with this though but at least no more queueing and spending half our lives in PO's
EDIT: Should say we always post around 4ish at this PO with normally post going ok and SD's arriving on time. Some People Live & Learn, Some People Just Live...0 -
unfortunatly all it takes is a failed collection(given yours would be the last of the day) for your SD item to miss its deadline.
things are getting tighter now.i know i seem to blame everything on the later starts nowbut the delivery office vans are used after deliverys for collection dutys.
any problems on deliveries eg mechanical failure are now later in the day leaving less of a window for contingency measures.
if its like my office the vans are held together with bugglegum, gaffer tape and good intentions0 -
Just an update on my original problem. The PO says they had no problems that day with special and it was taken seperately by the RM van driver. RM have sent me a claim form for loss despite me telling them it has actually arrived. I phoned again and told them I don't want to claim (as I can't of course) but that I needed the track and trace updated, but they insist it is lost and so they can't update track and trace..grrrI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. soolin ...... is your PO freindly ? Just wondering if you could ask to see the collection paperwork for that day and SEE FOR YOURSELF that your number is listed there.
It was obviously collected and delivered but just seems to have not been in electronically.
I doubt that they would have too many at that price any way!! So easy enough to go through the list....however I am not sure that doing this would help you if its NOT been entered. As how do you enter something that already happened. If 'I' put in your SD code it would then have to be picked up by our posties ..... IYSWIM0 -
mah jong, my PO is friendly but they do get a little peeved sometimes and even ban difficult users..so i wouldn't dare question them further. They were absolutely certain though that they did everything correctly and remembered the parcel.

right well i had an issue today that made me think of this.
i had a special delivery item with a barcode and item number that just wouldnt track.
the gun wouldnt read it and manually inputing it wasnt being accepted by the gun.
i tracked and traced the number and this showed no tracking.so this item has passed through the SD system but not tracked anywhere.
i suspect this is what happened on yours0 -
I bit the bullet and sent another batch of specials today..I really don't feel comfortable about the service any more though.
The odd thing was I wasn't even intending to use special for these items as my research on ebay suggested the few things I listed on the last10p day would maybe fetch £15-£20 tops. Yet several completely different items went way over £34 , I was absolutely stunned. That has meant I have taken a hit on postage costs, but obviously preferred to pay extra for special out of my own pocket rather than run any risks of uninsured losses.
It is crazy though, it was like a feeding frenzy on my sales I just sat and watched the buyers fight it out. I posted them all quickly before the buyers changed their mind!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. good news and tbh ,mistakes on specials are very rare
incidently SD/RD items are much busier this year over last year in my office.
infact packages in general are much much busier than last year0
