custardy is there anything I can do to persuade the RM to update the online tracking to show delivery?

I have no reason to suppose my buyer is a scammer but I just want to be cautious . Whilst the buyer has confirmed delivery to me via email I am conscious of the fact that a claim for fraudulent use of a credit card can be raised up to 6 months from payment. To protect myself against that I would obviously need to prove delivery to a certain address, and without the tracking and signature I cannot do that. I am a worrier so knowing I would lose a claim will be on my mind for weeks especially as I know I have done everything completely 'by the book'.

Hi Soolin....I am reading through this thread with interest....I work in a PO (shhhhh)

I am thinking that the SD was not processed initially? Could this have happened? Did you see it get scanned etc?

It seems strange that the barcode was not in the system ..... even it wasn't done when you took it in that it should be checked when handed over to RM. (We count them in and count them them out!!). Barcodes counted!

Tea3...I hope it arrived today! Are you also aware of consequential loss? I hhave used that for someone sending plane tickets ..... face value less than 500 BUT if they didn't turn up would have cost 1000's to put right!

Talking about this situation at work today ..... and most assume that soolin must have put it straight into a post box!! Its happened before!! Not you soolin BUT the postie have brought in a SD that someone posted in a mail box.

I said NOOOOOOOO so we have come up with a couple of suggestions as to how it could not be in the system.

Did you ask at the PO about your SD? See what they say? Can you ask to check if it went that day as it didn't show up?

    I have a theory .......

I shan't be going back to that PO until Tuesday now (I use different POs on different days) but will ask then. However the PO that accepted my parcel are very reliable and often know the minutae of the services better than the main crown PO in town. They can be a little tetchy sometimes so askign them whether everything was scanned properly might get me chucked out (and yes they have banned other people before now for seeming to complain), but I will ask as tactfully as possible and let you know.

Incidentally, do I have any claim against the PO for the postage I paid which cost me £19.75 as I have not got the tracking security I paid extra for?

I was planning on a stern letter to CS about this fiasco and I think i will mention that I am expecting compensation for the postage..will have to wait and see what they say. meanwhile I will guard my SD receipt as it has a lovely clear date stamp and post office initials.

Sorry to bring up an old thread again but can you tell me more about this - i.e. does this only apply if the order is lost as I was always under the impression I could only get postage amount back if an SD order arrived late. The orders were both delivered on Monday and classed as 'on time and before the deadline' !!! Posted Thu afternoon guaranteed next day and delivery on Monday is on time? lol
Put claims in for the £4.75 & £6.00 postage costs.
