when does special delivery start to track?

that is very strange given SD items are scanned many times in transit.
i can only speculate the barcode doesnt correlate to the tracking number on the label.a damaged barcode could still be manually inputed
so its been scanned along its journey but not to the number you have?
theres really no other explanation bar the possibility of the SD label being removed/damaged0 -
custardy is there anything I can do to persuade the RM to update the online tracking to show delivery?
I have no reason to suppose my buyer is a scammer but I just want to be cautious . Whilst the buyer has confirmed delivery to me via email I am conscious of the fact that a claim for fraudulent use of a credit card can be raised up to 6 months from payment. To protect myself against that I would obviously need to prove delivery to a certain address, and without the tracking and signature I cannot do that. I am a worrier so knowing I would lose a claim will be on my mind for weeks especially as I know I have done everything completely 'by the book'.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well my tales of SD over the past few weeks mainly from just before the strike:-
First item supposedly delivered buyer very agitated, then it shows as not delivered and eventually makes its way back to me....whew
Second item shown as carded (to a PO Box) buyer claiming non delivery, I drag it out for a couple of weeks before refunding. Now a month later buyer contacts me saying parcel has arrived....yikes. Now I have had to send an invoice again in the hope they will repay. I think they will since they are buying up my broken and knackered stock that I was going to throw away.0 -
Same here - sent 2 yesterday, nothing showing on system so I phoned them as one of the customers desp needs order for tonight. They said they think the parcels have been scanned wrong as there is no trace of either of them! and I can always get a refund of my postage if not received by 1pm today! Explained this was no use as the customer will cancel large order if not delivered today but that does not matter it seems. Guess its fingers crossed that the parcels not in the system are still delivered (the guy says maybe they will). This is not what I pay SD for - its supposed to be nice and easy and trackable etc - not phone calls all over the place to see if its lost or not - arghhh lolSome People Live & Learn, Some People Just Live...0

i sent an item last friday by special delivery and paid £7.75 plus £2 extra for saturday delivery. my buyer stayed in all day saturday but no delivery attempt was made. the item was delivered on monday.
i phoned royal mail to claim my postage cost of £9.75 back and thought they would be able to just send me a cheque as they have done before when a special delivery item has been delayed, but they said because it was a saturday guaranteed item i have to fill in a claim form and send the special delivery slip in to prove i paid the extra for saturday delivery and then i must wait for the claim to be processed. grr0 -

hmm very tricky one.
in theory i could change that status to delivered from a delivery office.
however if RM were to investigate it would flag up as incorrect.however if i was you i would contact the local delivery office for your buyer.given its a small office(i assume) they may remember delivering an SD to that address.even better they could try and track down the delivery card(longshot) to check what barcode was signed
you could ask the buyer to email you a scan of the barcode.however this could make them wonder why you want it.this barcode could be scanned on a delivery office gun and you could see what number shows from the barcode and if it tallys with the number shown.
if you like you can pm me the SD number and i'll fire it through the RM intranet tracker and see if it shows anytracking on the internal system.would be either saturday/monday
ps if you get into a chargeback drop me a pm and i'll see what i can do0 -
