Toto, I'm swaying into the 'don't do it' camp....although I'm not straying too far from the fence just yet....;)

You don't sound as though you really want to do it - a year is a REALLY long time.

    Look at the possible outcomes:

    a) you have a better cv and more money, your wrist holds out okay and you manage not to ram your drumstick up her (admittedly perfectly formed) bum as she murders yet another 'pop classic'

    b) you knacker your wrist permanently, destroy your reputation due to having to drop out, don't earn much money anyway as you've broken your contract, you have to give up drumming altogether, and have to live out of a suitcase for the next 12 months whilst only seeing your kids on weekends and holidays

Can you live with the possibility of the second one, for the sake of the possibility of the first one?

Thanks guys, you really do help me sort these things out. I'm going to say no I think. It was my gut feeling and that's seldom wrong.

If it weren't for the wrist issue I'd probably do it. One final final tour (bit like Cher with my final tours :) ) but even though this would be enough money to pay off the nashville house, I don't want to retire.

I'm going to call the agent now before I change my mind again.

Just think of it this way.. if your rep is that good at the mo.. you're bound to get offers again once you've sorted your wrist out..

Well if you've got a reliable gut feeling - you should take advantage.

If it hadn't been for that, I probably would have said "do it".

Or Nana Mouskouri. Now that would have been a challenge... ;)

There will be other opportunities. Some even better. It's not like drums are a "new fad" are they?
