I can totall yunderstand why you're tempted... is there anything you could wear on your wrist to prevent it getting worse?

Well speaking as the opinionated so&so that I am...

You need to get your wrist sorted - or at least stabilised. Yes, the money is good - but is it good enough to retire on? Especially if you have to pull out early? If it had been later, then fair enough - but you've been drumming in the meanwhile, and it has been sore.

As for the musical differences - well only you know how well you can stand that. I'm sure if you can go to your kids' school and endure Christmas carols with their cheap mics and notes being shot out of the air like grouse on a royal estate - then you can pretty much take anything...

  • lol true....
BTW will you need any bits and pieces like sterilsers etc? We've still got some bits left over from K like bottles, microwave steriliser etc... dunno if they'd be any good to you.. I know it's jumping the gun and all but give us a shout if you need anything. :)

Thank IA - thats a lovely offer but I've still got Mollies - just hadn't got round to put them on Freecycle yet - which I suppose is a good thing. Thank you very much for the offer though - its much appreaciated. :)

I don't think so. I'm going off for surgery in the new year and was told to rest it totally before then. I figured the odd date here and there would be ok, but I am worried I'd have to drop out of this tour and that'd be me off work for life.

To be honest, who it is doesn't matter, as I've said, playing those tunes night after night would do my head in. And I've done all of the touring I want to. This really is a cash thing. But then if I take the cash but end up not earning again for years I'd seriously regret taking this job.

I probably should waggle my finger at you and say you should have bought something for yourself....but I would have done the same.:o You will probably feel so happy when you see his little face light up on Xmas morning that it will be the best birthday present you could have had anyway.

(not sure that made sense, but I know what I mean.....lol)

    It does make sense :rotfl:
  • I have had a guess going by one of your previous posts, and if it is who I think it is, then I can see why you are tempted!!!

    Totally - means "totally".

It's only waiting until the new year. This shot is the best shot you'll get.

Toto, I'm swaying into the 'don't do it' camp....although I'm not straying too far from the fence just yet....;)

You don't sound as though you really want to do it - a year is a REALLY long time.

    Look at the possible outcomes:

    a) you have a better cv and more money, your wrist holds out okay and you manage not to ram your drumstick up her (admittedly perfectly formed) bum as she murders yet another 'pop classic'

    b) you knacker your wrist permanently, destroy your reputation due to having to drop out, don't earn much money anyway as you've broken your contract, you have to give up drumming altogether, and have to live out of a suitcase for the next 12 months whilst only seeing your kids on weekends and holidays

Can you live with the possibility of the second one, for the sake of the possibility of the first one?

    Hi all!!

Toto... it boils down to what is best for your wrist ... are you willing to risk it for the rewards it may bring but also the problems it may cause? Your health should come first IMHO

PS :T for being offered it in the 1st place... it shows you must have a great reputation already... :T

PPS :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: @ snags's not ramming the drumstick up her bum... no no no, no no no no no... :rotfl:
