    reporting it to whom?

what you describe will be treated as everyday noises of life, not exceptional noise caused by a specific disturbance

you can write to the environmental health dept at your council. They will be very grateful for you wasting council tax payers money on them having to look at your "drama" and I'm sure they will give you a first class brush off involving you maintaining weeks of "noise logs" and sending them in to be "reviewed" by testing people's aim at the waste paper basket

meantime, buy some soundproofing and learn how to fit it yourself if you want to save money

Rather than her moving her class to another room, perhaps you could move your bedroom to another room?
Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed. ;)

  • Wow, so your neighbour has the cheek to use an alarm clock at 7am. And talks on the telephone. And when you tell her to re-arrange her house and move into different rooms, she doesn’t. The utter cheek of it. Maybe you could write to Amnesty international, it sounds like it’s utter hell and clearly in breach of your human rights.
If you don’t take action now who knows where it will end up. You might have your neighbour flushing their toilet, opening cupboards or boiling a kettle. Write to the Daily Mail, organise mass protests. Don’t let this escalate!

Or you could just chill out.

I would suggest listing your house for sale, but the next neighbours may also be noisy. Having lived in student accommodation near train lines/main roads for most of my 20s I do find it amazing what some people consider to be noise

Perhaps worth trying some different types of ear plugs as some are much better than others. Ones advertised as 39 dB should block most sounds though 37 dB are often good enough. ‘Popular online auction sites’ have plenty of choice.
  • Hi Holly,

Hope I didn't offend you with my post. I never complained about her using the alarm clock, more about the thinness of the walls! Anyway, thank you for your wonderfully witty and sarcastic post! :) It just is quite early to be screeching down the phone at 6am but sure ok! :)
  • Hi Coffeehound,

Yeah I'll have a search around, thanks.
  • Hi diggingdude,

Like I said I do understand where she is coming from. Was hoping for advice rather than sarcastic silly replies.
  • Hi money maker,

Thanks for your advice. I think we might just get the soundproofing, can't see any other option really :)
  • Hi 00ec25,

I'm not quite sure, I am new to this whole 'thing'! :)

Ok, thanks again for the lovely sarcastic response. We are looking into soundproofing now, I was simply looking for some advice, didn't mean to get you all hyped up and offended! Jeez... Like I said, I can see it from her side as well.
