                    Hi
I get through mice (mouses) at the rate of one about every 2-3 months - is this normal? I think its because I play a lot of strategy games that require fast and accurate clicking so they get worn out pretty quickly and become exceedingly inaccurate. I also use it on a left-handed setting in case that has any bearing on the survival of the little dears
My current mouse is driving me mad because its so sloppy but before I buy yet another I thought it might be sensible to ask if there is such a thing as a mouse made to stand up to heavy use?
I actually feel really stupid asking this question as I am sure you will all think I have sledgehammers for fingers! But honestly its so annoying. I can't even log-in to my online bank now because the mouse is so sloppy it registers 2 letters for every 1 on the online keyboard I have to use.
Please understand that I have nothing against mice and do not condone physical cruelty.

Are they battery powered, or are you actually breaking the microswitch?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I thought this was in the pet board! :rotfl:
Try hamsters. They are more resiliant. 0 0

Gosh you two that was quick!! No,
no batteries or hamsters tho I do have a couple of guinea pigs
If by a "micro-switch" you mean the bit I click on with my index finger then yes, that's the bit that goes out of whack. Bits don't fall off or anything, though I have killed them stone dead on occasion, they just go all "sloppy".Stop looking for answers....

Are you using optical mouses? Whichever you use do you clean the ball/optical sensor? I know the old type were worse for collecting dirt but even the optical ones need a bit of clean.0

Buy a decent one. I play FPS shooters A LOT. The basic Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse will last forever. My last one I had over 2 years and only changed it because the pads had completely worn away on the bottom and so had the ridges that held them in place. Apart from that, it worked fine.0

Yes I do use optical mouses. When it comes to cleaning them, as you know, a little bit of surgery, with a scredriver is required. I don't mind that, I'm not squeamish. But last time I opened one up it resisted all attempts to put it back together and had to be pronounced dead at the scene Stop looking for answers.... Stop looking for answers....

I think you may have hit it on the head - I confess to being a cheapskate when it comes to mouses. Thanks for the reccomendation.Stop looking for answers....
