ok thanks for that! I'm just worried about having to declare any earnings, I only do about 10 houses now on my road, but think I'm going to give them up, its just not worth the risk I don't think.

I think I'll continue with my friends and family.
    No longer lost in debt!

I don't see that it makes any difference whether you do neighbours or friends - it's still all earnings. You should declare it yes but then I could see pleading ignorance working for a lot of Avon reps...

Also, you'd be amazed how little you actually "earn" when you start knocking off all your business expenses (internet, paper, printer ink, comfortable shoes, demo products etc etc etc).

Can someone talk me through the returns process pretty please? I've printed off the two forms but I can't find any instructions or label for the parcel anywhere on the website! I need to know asap please.

you should get a returns label with your orders...it has a barcode on it. Stick this on the parcel, write the 4 didget number on the returns form, put one in the parcel the other for the delivery driver to sign. You give the parcel to the driver that delivers your order.

    Hi

Please can someone tell me how long it takes to receive the call off the 'local area sales manager' please?

I made an enquiery about 3 weeks ago to become a representative via their recruitment bit of Avon online website. The following week I received a welcome letter and a brochure by post, the letter says that the local area sales manager will be in contact with me shortly with more information. Yet that was 2 weeks ago almost and still I have not heared anything!

I don't know if it usually takes this as between 'campaigns' or if I have been forgotten about.

    MANY THANKS! :D

Hi this seems a long time i woulld ring them up and find out what is happening...someone should come out and see you...where do you live

    Hi Ladies,

I haven't posted on here for ages, I try to keep up but am having real trouble with Avon at the moment.

    1. still haven't registered for Tax ness. My AM said it wasn't neccessary as I don't make anything... but am worried about it to the point where I think I should just do it and get the fine over with (been Rep for two years)

    2. At work - main customer source, my boss doesn't want me doing it and two people owe me money but haven't paid yet. its a bit akward to be honest.

    3. locally I did my street(27 houses) , but got 1 order.... who is now never in, so I will send that lot back.

    4. I also have one more road I could do but to be honest..... and I am going to sound awful, but its rough and generally has ferral teenagers in it and a horrible pub.

I am seriously thinking of jacking it in. I could still do it at work, technically at lunchtime I can do what I want and if I happen to leave brochures laying around well......

but it just seems to be a source of problems. I think I might have a wander round the local area and see if I can find an un repped area to do away from my house, I like the doctors and dentists idea. there is a street round the corner I could have a go at?

I really don't know. I ve not made any money for months. I just can't find any one who likes Avon products round here, I think yea dodgy street would have customers but i could never do evenings there not with the pub and police etc. hmmm.

    any suggestions.

    xxx

why dont you try ringing your sales leader and ask for a new patch... i have about 100 houses and get orser of 250-400

Thanks Elle, I think my main issue is that I've been doing avon for 18 months now and while I would like to declare my earnings ,I don't want to be hit with the £100 fine... really can't afford that! (hence the name lost in debt!!)..

Spoke to my old sales rep last night and she said you are supposed to take off costs of brochures, printing, postage, demo products as you say off your earnings,so your earnings actually officially are next to nothing.

She said that it is a bit of a grey area where the tax man is concerned, because you aren't actually employed by avon, you just buy from them at a discounted rate, the money left over from when you sell it on isn't really labelled as 'commission' as such. She had a rep who worked at the tax office who told her all this apparently! She also said that Avon do not provide any of your details to the tax office, regardless of your sales.

I've actually been doing my territory very half-heartedly the last few campaigns so I'm happy to give it up to be honest, its not very big. I like to do avon mainly so I can purchase things myself, I probably actually only come out with about £10-£15 cash a campaign if that. I love it at Christmas, the little extra pressies really make the difference.
    No longer lost in debt!

    Hello Liverpool Louise,

Glad to hear that your party was a success. Can not wait to read about it. Was it really difficult to arrange. I have just started doing a raffle but have not had much luck in selling tickets. May just do parties and spend over £X and receive a free gift, but wonder how easy it is to do the parties instead. Did you have to spend a fortune buying lots of goodies or what did you do?
