If you read the vouchers it says you do not need to send them in so they can be used as many times as you like

Thank you for this thread ... I have just started out and really appreciate all the advice that you've all given. I have got C1 and C2 brochures and know that the first order I have to process online is going to be on 14th Jan so have less than 3 weeks. Has anyone started delivering brochures through doors yet? I am a bit worried that it's too soon after Xmas to start, but have got a patch of 180 houses and need to drop, collect and redrop brochures to get round all the houses. I'm going to try and run two campaigns at once although I'm not sure if it may be ambitious to do this on my first try.
    Thanks xx

  • I used to be an avon rep and do really well out of it. Things I used to do was keep track of what people ordered so if there was a special offer on that item on another campaign I would put a post it note on the front (these can then be removed for the next brochure drop) or if they like one product in a range I would often order some samples and give them a sample. I used to order a few sample packs...I was making about £400 per campaign so a few quid here and there was ok and it did work, you only had to make a few sales to recoup.

I would also save up products...for instance avon often do items 3 for £5 etc yet one customer would buy one, another customer would buy one but as it all goes through on one big order form you can order the third one which is often free of for a few pence...you have to read the offers and maximise what you can get out of it then at say christmas I would put a note in with the brochure saying anyone ordering more than £20 gets a freebie then when I drop the orders off I would have a big carrier bag they could dip into and have their freebie from a wide choice.

I would also sell at carboots the most popular ranges when they had offers on.. it is quite possible to make a £1 profit per item when bought in a savvy way and of course your sales mount, I used to know one woman who sold every week at car boots, she didnt make heaps of profit but she was a top seller and had a holiday out of it every year as she was a top seller she won it for free.

just always be extra good to the top buyers...I had a few women who would always order £50-£100 per campaign buying for family gifts etc, always gave them a heap of samples to share and I found it was well worth investing in the make up sample set as people could see the colours or I gave them the chance to buy a sample colour, I didnt make any money as i sold them at cost price but normally I got the sale from it next campaign etc

I also did parties again selling lots of items, I would bulk buy the buy one get one free bubble baths etc so for instance, they were £2 each, buy one get on free means 2 for £2 or £1 each so I would then sell them for £1.50 each cheaper than brochure price and still make a £1 profit and get the sales quota for it.

    good luck

  • If its such a good business to be in, why the high turnover of representatives?
  • Hi all one of my customers has ordered some stuff out of the sale mag but every time i put just the code in it comes up not found what am i doing wrong
  • I feel like a prat i know what ive done ive just notticed that it says campaign 3 on top of the sale book,i feel so daft now if anyone orders i will just tell them that ive got my delivery date wrong and its the 29th out of the sale book and not the 15th.
  • Maybe they have run out?......they often do of the sales stuff as it is discontinued lines. Most annoying I know when its something the customer has specifically ordered.

You could also try doing the reverse search thingy where you put the description in and it brings up the code number?

  • I have just put my order in for Campaign 2 and must admit it was a struggle getting books out and in on time and thought to myself...................if I don't get many orders I'm going to skip this campaign next year.

Everyone including us reps are time strapped and often skint at this time of year so didn't think I would do very well.

Was totally amazed to sell approx £170 :j

Still think the campaigns are far too close together around Christmas and New year time. Maybe I just need to be a little more organised?

Been doing it since campaign 17 and seem to have got quite a good round. Will subscribe to this thread though as there are some good ideas flying about.

Good luck in the New year all x
