Hello all. I have never had a credit card before and want one for christmas shopping etc, so mainly purchases as i have no balances to transfer.

Is the Halifax card the best option? Spoke to someone in branch today and it seems great!

Anything i should be aware of before taking it out?

Can anyone help with this? I am supposed to have a meeting with Halifax today at lunch to get the Purchase credit card, and I just wanted people's opinions on it etc (See my previous post)

For purchases (as opposed to balance transfers), this Halifax deal is the market leader at the mo.

The large print catch is the 0% for the first 6 months on balances transfers made within 90 days.

If you keep this card solely for purchases, you'll be fine
