iphone models. 8 X XR
When apple stopped the simple numbering system, it not so easy to know what is better. (and I lost interest too)
I'm looking for a used one to upgrade from my 6S, to have 64Gb memory.
I don't want one of the large plus models.
So there is...
8
X
XR ? ?
DO they all have sims slots still ?
Any experts tell me what the difference is between an 8 and an X please.
Thanks

In terms of handsets I wonder if you'd be better off avoiding the XR as it is similar in size to the Plus range.
iPhone 8 has an LCD screen whereas the X has an OLED. Although Apple have coded something in their software to minimise screen burn in, depending on how long you plan to keep it, it's something to bear in mind.
Yes, they still have SIM slots, it's only the XS, XS Max and XR that have eSIM capabilities if you are planning on using more than one line on iPhone.
If you head to: https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/compare/ you can compare the differences between your 6S, the 8 and X.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Thank you for that.
are you thinking I should avoid OLED?
Looks like an 8 will suit my needs0 -
LCD vs OLED vs AMOLED, it's really about a better visual experience, though power consumption comes into the equation. Does it really matter on a smartphone, well maybe. But it is down to the users perception. If you want to read a little about the various display types take a look at the link below.

As 20aday eludes to, + size models are fairly large and not every user gets on with that simple fact. Add the heavy investment for any X models into the mix and you might be disappointed in going that route.0 -
Me, personally, whilst OLED offers some great advantages over LCD, if you wish to sell your phone in the future, screen burn in will affect the trade value.
Aside from the dual camera, Face ID and OLED display, iPhone 8 still offers the same theoretical 4G and WiFi speeds, offers wireless charging and has the same processor as the X.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. There 7 is worth considering if you want to save a fair bit of money.0

probably want to go a bit more modern, so I can use for 2-3 years and then give to my father.
I recall something wrong with the 7's when they came out?? Camera ? touch ID ?0 -

I would say it is more mse than the 8 or X and is still a decent model.0 -

The 7 is still sold by Apple and is only a small step behind the 8 performance wise (and the 8 has wireless charging). It has no widespread issues and is as reliable as any other iPhone.

I could do with wireless charging.0
