We've accepted an offer on our house, so we're soon going to be relocating, which means I have decided that this will be my last working month. I have one last stab at selling my business, if that doesn't work, I'm just going to close it down. I'll be 55 next month, I may be working just a week past my birthday. Wish OH would give up but he wants to carry on working.

So I'm doing that thing several people seem to caution against doing, which is give up work and relocate to somewhere where we know nobody. Hey ho, has to be done, wish us luck.

55 next month as well slinky and this Tuesday I close my business. So double snap.

    Not leaving my garden though!

I wish I could take our house and garden with us, but we can't, so building work required in our new home and then try and work out what we can do with what remains of the garden.

We are in the same boat slinky. Have a bungalow we have been renting so our house now on the market so we can move into bungle. Want to put an extension on the back then need to work on what's left of the garden - it doesn't seem big but omg there is a lot to do!
;) If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

Very similar to us Techno, we bought our onward home about 18 months ago and rented it out. Tenant now gone, work being done before we move in - new lintels and some plastering following a rewire we did after purchase.

Oh well, I find myself unexpectedly retired. As of about 5.15pm yesterday when I fell over and broke my arm. Too difficult to carry on now and had planned to stop after one more monthly work 'cycle'. So I will have to wind down, refund customers who had paid in advance and call it a day.

We are too. Packing in work in August, house going on market asap. Don't know where we'll live but we're not buying straight away. I can't wait :D

I hope it's not too bad a break, slinky. As it's one of those things you cannot change, get all Zen and look for those silver linings crv mentioned.

    Get well soon

I wasn't trying to beat you to the finish line Bugslett! Break is very high up so arm in sling, no plaster. Awaiting advice from the virtual fracture clinic. It's just very annoying, got so much to do with imminent house move. At least it's my non-writing hand.
