The only thing that is fixed is the 1% introductory bonus.0 -
I've just checked the interest rate on my Alliance & Leicester ISA and the rate has dropped considerably.
This isn't a real surprise, but they didn't notify me. Are banks not obliged to notify customers when they change their savings interest rates?
Yes just checked today as I was looking to transfer my Barclays ISA across. the issue 4 is down to 2.55% which includes a 1% bonus!
I guess in the days of the internet, they don't officially have to notify us.Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Looks like Cheshire BS has dropped their fixed cash ISA rate to 3.6%
Looking around it seems that Northern Rock has a 4% fixed cash ISA, does anyone know if there's a better rate around?

Much is said about switching ISAs to benefit from better rates, but in my recent experience this is not so easy. I am fortunate in having a fixed rate ISA with Lloyds at 6.5% and when the rate of another ISA I have dropped I tried to transfer it to Lloyds. That was 8 weeks ago and am today in the position of having to start all over again completing the forms, numerous phone calls and visits to the bank in between. The fixed term on my Lloyds ISA will come to an end befor I manage to get this sorted. Has anyone else had this, or has anyone else found it easy?0

Looks like you've had a bad experience, but don't let that put you off. I think you should try to establish why you're having to do this again, and if it's not your fault LLoyds should be paying interest based on your original application. The process of transferring a cash ISA never seems to be as quick as it should be. Now that interest rates are plunging, we're all keen to get the best rate so I think lots of people will be switching and high volumns will inevitably mean longer switching times.Wearing my other one today.0 -
I have just checked with the Abbey to find that they have cut my ISA rate to 2.9%. I have found Julian Hodge offers a 1 year lock in ISA at 4%. Has anybody seen a better one??0
